Slightly OT: Green Mamba Stolen

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Wyle E Coyote, Nov 29, 2006.

  1. we basicly have the same problem here in the St Louis area, hell they're stealing the copper off the roof's of churches. what St Louis City is think of doing is making all the scrap dealers take a picture of the license of the person & the license plate on the car/truck that brings it in along w/a picture of what they sold for scrap.

my question to the scrap dealer is, "now where in the world does a guy find a JET ENGINE to scrap", seem to me i would of had the cops there when i seen that because it's not like they don't get those everyday.....joe

a buddy here who owns a sports car shop had a storage trailer broke into by a druggy. this asswipe stole thousands of dollars worth of vintage speed equipment, carb sets, trannys etc. basicly anything made out of aluminum.
smashed it up and sold it for scrap. the cops caught him but he was kicked loose by the court because they didn't want to mess with a homeless drug addict.

  3. I work at a school & they've been clipping the copper leads off of the numerous welding machines we have.We had to make small boxes that attatch to the machines so we can roll the cables up inside & lock them.
    Assholes.

Hey Chip Foose and Overhauling should take this on! It would make for one awesome human and drag racing interest story.

You know, I read that he was storing it in the parking lot of his apartment complex? You'd think he would have picked a little more of a secure place to store it. I think anyone who lives around here knows that when in comes to these local apartment complexes, they'll steal anything that isn't chained down. I'm amazed that as important as this car was to him, he left it in such an unsecure location.

Damn, I'm glad he got it back, and I hope he gets all the help and support he needs to put it back together.

This is one of those cars I haven't thought about in years, but I remember seeing him on TV with it when I was a kid. During an interview he stuck a knive in his leg (because they're artificial) and I thought he was a real bad ass! LOL

I was thinking that too, but read that the car is his only source of income... maybe he's not doing so great money wise? I'm glad he got most of the car back.

He said the car was his only source of income. I doubt if promoters are paying him very much just to fry scrap cars. Maybe a local HAMBER with a secure space and a 44 magnum can offer to store it for him cheap.

Great place to visit, but 10 years was way too long of a stay for me.

  16. The nice weather no longer outweights the hurricanes, insurance and tax hikes, crappy salaries, the crime, the traffic and the just plain crazy.

I don't know if you read the saw the rest of the news of the day, but it looks like my days of crack smoking and then swimming naked with the 'gators are over now too.

Harry, give me a call sometime, tell me how things are going.

I had a truck stolen out of my driveway. I found the parts on a truck in Orlando and had a cop there. Nothing happened, because OPD and Polk County were having a tiff with eachother.

Found the truck driving down the road AGAIN a few months later, in Lakeland (where the theft occured), and gave the cop the tag number. He flat out told me he wouldn't do anything about it, because the insurance company paid me for my loss and I was therefore not the victim of the crime anymore.

Ever notice how shit will roll down hill? Look at a map of the US. What's at the bottom? Floriduh.

I live in Georgia now--and love every minute of it.

Well, if the dude is broke I can certainly sympathize. God knows I've been there. Sounds like a typical car guy on a shoestring budget, and this was probably devastating for him.

I'm glad he got most of it back too.

Maybe some of us local guys here in central Florida should have a little benefit car show or something to drum up a little money to help him get it back together. I think I may start a new thread & see if there is any interest in doing it.

  22. PROBLEM: No accountability left in this country for your actions.

SOLUTION: Start killing more of these sons-a-bitches.

METHOD: We could start by slowly skinning them. Slow enough so as not to kill them. After their skinned, drop them in a barrel of alcohol. When the burning stops, pull them out and set them on fire.

If people knew that this was the punishment noone would steal no more fucking races cars.
