Hey, I need a hand tracking down some CHEAP new parts.... The one set of parts that ALWAYS seems to need replacement on beater Japanese motorcyles, the rubber intake manifolds. You know, goes between the carb and the head. Rubber is deteriorated and cracky. Kawasaki calls them carb spacers, suzuki calls them grommets... blew me away that honda actually calls em intake manifolds... whatever... my shit has a mangey-assed vacuum leak. I got quoted $22 each today by my Honda dealer, and I need FOUR. Anybody know of say, a mailorder place that has such things cheaper? Awww, I stepped in it now, didn't I? YES, I know I am fucking some poor slob somewhere beacuse I want it cheaper... CHEAPER CHEAPER!!! fuckit, its not even an american product!!! Find me a $400 harley, or better yet a Crocker, and I'll put the Honda in the dumpster!!!! I am joking around here, do_not_give_yourself_a_wedgie over my comments!!! Besides, its not the product's fault! Which, by the way, is a 1980 honda cb900c. garcias, -J
MAD about another OT post? then... look at the girly shakin it over there.... loooook.... MMMM! much better, now huh?
Shit dude, all that CB shit I was sellin had a rack of carbs that still had nice rubbers on them, I wish you woulda said something then I woulda gave you the whole she bang. -Jesse
wrap'em with electrical tape, then put a hose clamp on each end.it worked on a boxer BMW i once worked on,should work for you
wrap the carb "flange?" or the whole effing thing? Either way, thats hella "ratbike" style, I like it! Still very curious about 750/900 interchangeability. Thanks, J

Well maybe electrical tape works on bmw bikes but duct tape worked great on my four carb kawasaki.
electrical tape is stretchier than duct tape.wrap it around the entire thing,so it overlaps the ends, then squish it all together.
Huh... mine doesn't have studs... "grommets" on both ends, meaning the head has a tube-y flange thing too, just like the carb.... I'm thinkin they're gonna be different, most parts are listed for 80-82 cb900c and cb900f... prolly unique onto themselves, and I thing they called them Magna after that....
I doubt they are interchangable... would make sense the 900 would have larger diameter carbs and therefore the rubber manifolds would be larger diameter as well. I also remember (in my rat bike getto days) smearing whatever i could get my hands on like rtv gasket maker, silicone caulk, etc on those muthas and it works... for a while. as far as i know on one makes 'em aftermarket so egay and the dealer you're stuck with (but its been a while since i checked around).
