I used Carb Out until I couldn't find it anymore. Now I use Sea Foam.

Anybody know of anything better? Maybe some cheap, household chemical methods?

I love makin' that huge cloud!! People drive by and are like "Dude, WTF???"

  3. When you use the cleaner while the carb is still on the car, it makes a beautiful white cloud of smoke. It's a site to behold on a crisp Sunday morning.

I'd like to rig up an injector for the stuff so I can smoke out tailgaters!! Heh - heh.:D :D

Oh, dude - that would be bad***!

I've used a spray bottle full of water to soften some sludge up before using the Sea Foam, and MAN you should've seen it! The last motor I did was a 2.2 in my '98 S-10. I pulled the brake booster hose and dumped it down into the fitting, and let it sit all afternoon.

That cloud was easily 10 feet long by 80 feel tall!!!

antifreeze white smoke and SeaFoam white smoke are on opposide ends of the spectrum. one is intential to make sure the other doesn't happen.

The proper letters are Atf. :p
I've heard of putting a little transmission fluid in the spark plug holes. It puts out just as much smoke!

GM's TEC (top engine clean) is supposed to be better, but I just used Sea Foam last week.

Seafoam is essentially mineral spirits, caster oil, water, and alcohol to make everything mix. In reality, as far as cleaning inside the cylinder goes, water works as well as anything. It's primarily the liquid hitting the carbon at high speed that "blows" is off. The solvents actually do very little because they don't have time to soak(until you get to the pour it in till it dies and let it sit part).

i'll chime in for seafoam too. i swear by that stuff and have 2 cans of it in my trunk at all times (one for me, one to help someone in need.) i really think it's the best stuff out there, at least that i've used.

Whoever came up with this stuff at the outboard motor company was a genius!
