No, it would have a rubber bushing at both ends.

I would go with a much longer trailing arm. It goes along with what Loogy posted. It will give you a much better and safer ride. I'll dig up some pics and post them.

    UPDATE:

So at this point I have the rear X member about 2 3/4 inches off the ground and nothing is hitting anywhere. What's odd is that I cant see whats keeping it from going lower. I would like to go 2 inches more. There is clearance everywhere. Perhaps that is as low as the torque tube joint will allow?

Here are a couple pics. One is with the front bags full, the other is with the front bags empty.

If this is as low as I can get it, then my notch is too big like some of you said. I would really like to get that last couple inches, but it may be too much work.

What did you end up doing with the area that was hitting?

  11. With leaf springs, that's pretty damn low.

I am not going to use the factory u-bolt block. And I trimmed out the notch about a half inch. I plan to reinforce it with some 1/4 inch plate.

Its going to be 2 linked for sure, the leaves are bent too far...

****! Sorry guys I don't have any pics from under the car showing the trailing arms or the mounts. I'll see if happy hoppy has any since he took pics as we went along.

    TIME FOR AN UPDATE:

I realzed that my ebrake cables were preventing me from getting full drop. So I unhooked them and I was pleasantly suprised! Now the 215-75-15 tires hit the fenders. I am very happy with how low it is now.

    Here are some pics:

For those who said the notch was too big, well your right. Its not that big of deal though.

And a couple pics for reference:

Now I just have to build a bridge, mount the bags and put it all back together.

Ya, I am going to beef it up with some 3/8 plate.
