Hey HAMBers! I went on a picture taking safari this past weekend and I took some photos of old vehicles that I'd like help identifying. They are pretty rare vehicles for these Northern Parts. Can you guys tell me how old they are? 1. http://voth.ca/gallery2/v/oldiron/safari/IMG_2439.jpg.html 2. http://voth.ca/gallery2/v/oldiron/safari/IMG_2446.jpg.html 3. http://voth.ca/gallery2/v/oldiron/safari/IMG_2453.jpg.html 4. http://voth.ca/gallery2/v/oldiron/safari/IMG_2500.jpg.html Thanks! Zeke
Seriously if you don't know this, the only reason you should be on here is to learn and you need to stay in the background...
nothin wrong with asking kind of easy questions, as long as we get to see some old tin in the deal here are the pics without having to click a link....just a touch of magic that us old timers know how to do
I thought someone might be interested in that oldie. Good luck finding it. Only me and Walt Gabe know where it is I know that it's been sitting there for over 26 years. I used to stare at it while I rode the school bus every morning for three years. I remember that it used to have a sign on the side of it that said "EXPO'67 or BUST".
Sorry, if I told you then I'd have to tell everyone else and then there would be this incredible pileup on the highway close to Walt Gabe's place. Think of what Walt would think.
What he said.LOL You're not exactly a rocket scientist your ownself. 1-31 Chev?I really don't think it's an A the Grille Shell is too round on top. 2-61-2 RAMBLER 3-49+ FORD 4-47 FORD Looks like you were at the very least freezin' your ass off out there. Hope it was fun.
whats all that white sh!t all over the cars??!!!!! snow?! seriously, if that "A" has been there that long someone needs to save it, actually i'll have a trailer ready in a few minutes! got a few good finds there, good luck if you're lookin to pick one up.
I think #4 is a 38 ford pu. Look closer, it is not a 40 or a 42-46. Head lite on fender, has hood sides, Grill looks homemade.
Good eye for detail, although I'd have a hard time going with 38 Ford,sooo..... On further reveiw I wish to revise my entry on #4.I haven't got a clue.LOL
This is a 40 or 41 3/4 ton or heavier truck. The 42 up trucks had the H/Ls in the fender not on it. We all know what a 40 or 41 1/2 ton looks like.
#3 The large rear window and two round holes for the gauges in the dash make it a 1950 - 52 Ford truck #4 Is a 1940 -41 3/4 ton Ford truck. The 3/4 tons had the headlights mounted on top of the fenders.
Here's a couple more shots of that big old Ford pickup. Maybe it will help identify what size it is. Notice the split rim? It's gotta be at least a 3/4 ton. It has a flathead. And maybe a 4speed. Here's the tailgate script. And here's the rearend view. Enjoy the pics.
This is listed as a 1941 Ford express 1 ton in the picture caption. My truck book says it should have 122" WB compared to the 112" 1/2 ton WB It looks to me like the bed is just unbolted from the frame.
