Chevrolet 250 engine question????

What year did Chevrolet go to the odd shaped valve cover (low and flat in the middle)???? Thanks for any help..................Fred

 

that was used on the integral manifold head, wasn't it? sometime around 1975?

look at the casting date!

 

Yep......somewhere around 75-76. Those intergal heads were prone to crack, but can be replaced with the earlier style with the seperate manifolds.

 

not sure how interested you are in figuring out just what it is, but if you look at the machined pad on the block, at the base of the distributor, you might find a couple stamped number sequences, post them and we can probably figure it out.

That looks like one of my wiring jobs

didn't they also use them in cal. earlier for emissions?

 

can you tell me what the torque spec are on the 250 manifold
