They are trying a different format for Pinks at my home track.. Firebird Raceway in Phoenix.

9 second cars running all out (no sandbagging), not for ***les but just for cash.

I just got a NHRA Ch***is Cert for the car, so it's legal to 8.50. However it is unlikely I will have my license by December 9th. If not, I will have a friend drive the car.

Anyways, I think I have a decent shot at getting in the show. I'm sure they will have plenty of turbo Mustangs and nitroused Camaro's, but not many straight axle 55's with stack injection.

I have to admit... I hate the show, and dont really watch it, but I'd love to get some publicity and represent the g***er style cars.

I hope you get in ... I would love to see a car that actually interest me on that show. There hasn't been a car on it worth watching since Tim, From Minnesota Hot Rod's ran his A sedan.. The new format should be good I hate the B.S. negotiations

I'm with you. My bro runs a Pukestang and topped at 8.76/167 but it is STILL a Pukestang. I'd love to see some old iron clock his ***. Not just the wrench I've got for him...

I hope you get in.. what kind of cash does it take to play.. do you set up a grudge race under the new rules or do they pair you and then you talk cash. Unfortunately, there is no sand bagging now since folks kinda know what you run..

Good luck, from the episodes I've seen of Pinks, the starter dude causes controversy. Seems like he's always explaining his way out of some screw up. I wish they would just run the timing systems at the track and forget all the hoke poke gymnastics at the starting line. Anyway, we'll be pullin' for ya'.;)

I think that'd rock. Pinks is my favorite show on TV, and I'm tired of seeing mustangs vs. Fbodies or Gbodies.

Awesome! I'll definitely be watching. I hope that you kick some serious *** on there..:) The ultimate would be to see you paired up against a mid '50s Ford G***er.

For those who may be wondering, Pinks All Out is a one shot deal at this time. They will still be making the normal episodes too. From where I sit, Pinks seems to be a show that you either love or hate. I dig on it and I'm not really into drag racing.

    Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

My car was ALL OUT at 9.75 on Friday. But that shouldn't be a problem if they happen to pick a group of 9.70ish cars. But everyone knows there are lots of ways to cheat. But they claim sandbaggers and cheaters will be thrown out.

They will stage cars with the christmas tree but start them by the ol Hand Drop. That leaves a lot room for reaction time.

Again - it costs nothing and it's not for "pinks".... so why not give it a shot. Here some info from the website:

Race ALL OUT or go home! Bring your family and friends for a day of incredible racing. Your car has to be dialed in between 9.0 - 9.9 to play in this game! You'll be competing for $10,000 CASH. No sandbaggers allowed! Heads-Up, Run-What-Ya-Brung drag racing...
PINKS ALL OUT - Will You Be The Last Racer Standing?

    Location: Firebird Raceway, Chandler, Arizona
    Date: December, 9th 2006
    Gates Open: 7:00 AM
    Tech Inspection: 7 AM - 10:15 AM
    Qualifying: 10:15 AM - 3 PM
Top Prize: $10,000 PLUS 8 racers get $1,000

WE LEARNED A TON IN TEXAS .... YOU ASKED US TO BE MORE TIME SPECIFIC...YOU GOT IT! NINE SECOND CARS ... THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT!

PINKS: ALL OUT 9.0 - 9.9 is coming to FIREBIRD RACEWAY in ARIZONA - on DECEMBER 9TH!!

And We Don't Care How COLD It Gets!

IMPORTANT: This is a 9.0 to 9.9 compe***ion. Race cars, street cars, dragsters all welcome. Must have 4 wheels and p*** tech inspection to compete. You've got to be in the 9's running ALL OUT to be part of this monster tournament!

Remember, you gotta be in the 9's running ALL OUT. If you run in the 8's, you're too fast ... in the 10's, too slow. Sandbagging ... don't even think about it. Cheaters get sent home. It's your job to dial your car in ... in the 9's!

Fans and racers this is your day. We love ya! Bring your friends, family, coats, hot chocolate, trailers and RV's ... And don't plan on leaving until after dark!!

All cars get in the competion for FREE. Get there VERY early...we aren't waiting for anyone!

Gates open at 7 AM - Tech Inspection between 7 AM and 10 AM

ALL OUT Qualifying Begins At 10:15 AM. You Get Atleast 2 Runs!

ALL OUT Qualifying Ends At 3 PM and things are just getting started!

Rich Christensen and Team PINKS will select 16 to 32 killer racers from ALL OUT Qualifying to compete for $10,000 CASH in a Heads-Up, Run-What-Ya-Brung, Let's-Get-Ugly, Shootout, Showdown!

Rich might pick a group of 9.3's or 9.8's! You never know .... But you got to be in it to win it!

Plus, 8 Racers Will Receive $1000 CASH!!!

Will there be ***le racing? NO!! So you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!!

It's FREE for the racers and $10 bucks for spectators. Not one dime goes to PINKS! We're the ones giving the money - remember?

Look, Rich wants to give $18,000 away and watch some Fast, ********, No Bullsh#T Racing!! It's that simple.

So show up and get ready to push your car like it's never been pushed before. Oh yeah, you might just have one of the best times of your life!!!

No ***les Required - No Sandbaggers Allowed. Test and Tune - Night before ALL OUT Compe***ion to get your cars dialed in. You can also p*** tech inspection that night.

I was there to see your run last friday nite!!

Let us Phx area folks if they are going to have any spectators there.

If the runs are anything like fridays run it'll make for one fantastic show!

I think entering your car will be fun for you. That show has street racing down to the t. I also think that a 10,000 to win will bring out some bracket cars and that will be hard to compete with. Having no sandbagging in a race ,well you might as well bracket race.
Have fun and your car looked good in the vids.

I got my NHRA license this week so I'm all legal and ready to go for Saturday. There is a huge buzz in Phoenix and we are expecting a ton of cars to show, so chances are pretty slim of getting selected into the final 16.... but you never know.

  25. I'd have to tape it if your car gets picked. I love that thing!

    Good luck!

Fellas, the Pinks "All Out" thing is a FAR CRY from the for-***les format.

    And it is MUCH better.

We had an all-out event here in Texas at the Motorplex.

Basically they run hundreds of cars, and tell you to run ALL OUT all day. What they're looking for is consistency. At the end of the day, they pick a .2 ET window that has 16 of the most interesting and consistent cars in it. They let them all run for cash and prizes. No handicap, no ***les. So it really is in your best interest to run all out and HARD all day, because they don't know beforehand what the .2 ET window will be (it happened to be 10.0-10.2 at the Ennis event btw).

Good luck to ya Shakey! I'll be looking for that '55...

Well if you dont have nitrous on your car now and it runs 9.70's. Take and put a 100-150 shot on it and youll do 9. teens or 9.20's. Good luck my man hope you make it in!!!

where is the challenge in making sure everyone is running the same times. This is way too much like bracket racing. They basically throw you out if you run too fast.

What ever happened to setting a set of guidelines for a cl***, and then who ever can run the fastest wins? Taking a 8 sec car and slow it down to run exactly the same as everyone else's just doesn't make sense to me..
