We would know that it is a lie then, no one from SoCal could come up with a 60's style show rod that was that cool! Ha Ha Ha

Nice looking show rod, made with more craftsmanship than I could ever hope to equal.
Who cares who made it, a cyclops midget green skinned half man half dog from Venus could have made it and it would still be a car, built in a style you either like or don't.

Oh yea if it was one of the HAMB celebrities, this thing would be ten pages of "I love it"

Agreed. Wonder what the responses would have been had it been a resurrected Roth creation, a '60's Starbird rod, or something by a young Dick Dean...

It's not what I would build but I like it all the same.

Some folks hate Jap stuff just because it is Jap. I have been to Japan and have met some of the guys and let me tell you, they love American Iron (and just about anything else from the USA) - this car shows their unique appreciation for 60's customs. Very few guys over there have anything resembling shop space and there are even fewer junkyards there than, say, Los Angeles. So it is even more impressive when you see the cars and bikes that come out of there.

"but i would not mind seeing cars like this all over the place instead of stupid rat rods built poorly on purpose ....THOSE things are wretched .."
    YES YES YES!!!!

  19. Taste is subjective. Simple as that.

If someone had blamed that on Dick Dean, I'd have called bullshit right away. Starbird, maybe. Too many gimcracks and geegaws for Roth also. Now if you'd suggested it was out of Barris' shop, I'd believe that. Barris builds for celebraties and I totally could see Snoop Dogg in that car. Or Kid Rock.

I have no love for show rods, both past and present (and I mean those that were done in this style...yuck)...but this thing is fucking amazing...I don't care who built it, my hat's off to them...absolutely amazing work...wow...

  25. That just struck me as odd, no offense, I don't have anything against kustoms, I just don't follow them. I would'nt mind having one myself some day...Right now I'm busy reading about stuff that applies to my build.

Is this the same shop that did RODriguez? The style looks similar.

Personally, I like it because it's so different than what anyone else is doing right now...

...kinda like Plowboy's stuff. A fresh look at something we've seen before.

It makes no difference whatsoever what country it came from. A hot rodder built it his own way...and with great craftsmanship. Period.

I like that it pushes the envelope. It pushes a few things too far for me, personally. Certain aspects of it kick ass. I agree with Scotch on the possible builders.
