i think the belair chrome would be to busy on such a small car, the cheapo 150 chrome would look good with a two tone paint. shorten the frame , and put a nicely dressed small block with old ramhorns. hot rods should have v8s and 3 pedels imho .. maybe the 57 grille bar narrowed as a nerf bar.. man the possibilities are endles on this car !! i love it!

Use a SBC with one of those front mount blowers on it, I think you've got enough room, should ride good, huh?

If it were mine I would shorten the frame put a juiced up six pack in it and swap that windshield for something witha lil curve to it. But thats just me.:D

You have to remember how long that 6 is, shorten frame to much it will not fit. I pulled a tape on my A Model frame he built me and it would not fit, but it will in this one........

How about a "Black Widow" flavor? Just use it as an inspiration and don't get too literal about it. Might be cool.

Caseyscustoms did a similar body using '57 rear sheetmetal, there were some threads on it here.

Neat car, I vote for the inline 6 also, and 150 side trim.

I vote for the inline six, But I would put a slant six from a dodge in it. I think those slant sixes look cool in small rods like this one. They dress up nice too.

all i was saying is if he had a 305 with chevrolet script covers or something would you really be able to tell the difference? i know there are some very small differences (they didnt have the holes for side motor mounts, the oil filter is the canister style though most people would get the adapter for screw on.) but not enough for the average joe to know any better.

The Pontiac Cammer or a 53-53 vette induction on a chev 6.

  21. Yeah... and while you're at it, lean the windshield back a few degrees so it's parallel with the back edge of the tailfins... so the lines on the car "flow".

Hmmm. It just might work! :)

Cool project...I vote SLANT six...ha ha ha!

I have a COMPLETE '57 dash with the gauge cluster, was planning on narrowing it for a Model A tudor. Looks like you may beat me to it.:( :D I'd find a '57 steering wheel too.
The dash is deep, you may run out of room for it in the small cab.

with that stretch you could even do a straight eight. I wonder if a double engined thing is feasible or even could be made street legal? Wouldn't that be different? a couple 3.8 V-6's mated at the crank?

Most of us don't reallize but one of these days we'll be finding these cars out in fields and in the woods rotting once again. Sad thing is all the good model a bodies are getting chopped and the pieces disgarded, so we're loosing all those original bodies! We only rent the things we have, when we die someone else gets the lease!!

Sweet Car though!!!! Post some more pics when you get it done!! or along the way!!
