Here is a couple videos of my v8-60 that was rebuild by Richard Willam. It will be installed in my 1949 Hydroplane speedboat. Brian http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v465/barnman/?action=view¤t=MVI_0900.flv http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v465/barnman/?action=view¤t=MVI_0898.flv
Ain't nothing (well maybe a offy) sounds as sweet as a hotrodded flatty. BTW this months R&C has a feature on vintage hydros and such. Please keep us updated with lots of pics. I'm quite jealous.
Here are some links to the boat. I was told it has over 120 HP. Brian http://www.vintagehydroplanes.com/dumais.html http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v465/barnman/outside6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v465/barnman/outside1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v465/barnman/ouside7.jpg
Thanks for the pics. looks like a very interesting project. As a kid I was always intrigued by those little K(?) cl*** hydro kits/plans in the back of Pop. Mech. magazine and have had a soft spot for the race boats ever since.
What do you know, a genuine old timey water borne hot rod with a small block flattie no less. Definitely looks like some fun on the water is in store for this guy. Best of luck with the project. Another cl***ic rod saved from the crusher, ( fire place in this case). This little puppy is awesome. CHEERS !!! ZIMM
