Then you get it home and relize what the hell was i thinking?

I picked up this 53 chevy 4 door (i hate 4 doors more then any thing) and im standing in the garage this morning drinking my coffee and smoking and im looking at this thing. First time ive actually taken a good look at it since i got it home 3 days ago. And this car is a disaster. theres more bondo on it then the floor of the damn bondo factory. Who knows what is under all that filler, im guessing not much.

I kinda bought it on a impulse and thought it would make a fun car to mess around with since i dont have any thing older then 67 to play with right now. but damn what was i thinking. its a good thing it was cheep:rolleyes:

So who else has had something like this happen after you get the new car home?

If you hate it that much.....give it to me :)

This summer with the free wagon I got, yeah free, but after I got it home and found out it was full of brown recluse spiders (Arkansas car) I realized, with the help of my wife, that I made a BIG mistake bringing it home. My buddy Zac now owns the spider trap....

Dragged home a prize or two along the way;usually out with buddies and it seemed like a good deal at the time, until I'm home alone with it... at least it was cheap..I usually buy high sell low.

well i got it here i may as well do someting with it now. but my plans for it have changed. I was going to chop it to get one more under my belt but now im thinking it will get a quick sanding and some more bondo and just make it a fun little bomber. and when the 235 blows up ill just off it.

Yeah, made a deal not too long ago I started to wonder about. That's the same time those Vonage " One smart decision among many, many stupid ones" ads started. I coulda swore it was a message for me!

    It turned out OK though.

Well, the rust on my latest purchase looked "doable"... unitl I was stripping the car and pulled the back seat out and discovered it was being held up by the brackets and thin air. Glad I didn't try to sit on it!

If I would have had the money I would have bought it...for that price, I figured even if it was all roached it would still be fun to drive around in...

  17. Hah! Me Too! I just knew that after the "van fiasco" of this summer that another yard dog would not be appreciated by the old lady. Bbut for the price, you get a winter beater that has some style.

Hey Brain, I remember that that thing needed a starter, and I have one, as well as some other 235 parts if you need them. Gimmie a call.

Two reasons why I know my future wife isn't with me for the money:
1.) I met her while driving a Geo Metro.
    2.) I don't have any money.

I didn't even get home before havign a major case of 'what was I thinking' with the Comet. I got that when I was checking into a hotel room in Jersey at 1 am after the dist. cap burned up on the freeway.
Then it broke down three more times the next day(generator crapped out, overheated, trans overheated), and used two more tows to get it home.
I kept it, keep workign on it and am stupid in love wit hte car. But I never claimed to have an ounce of sense.

    Spiders freak me out, man.

If the wagon was cool enough, I'd have wrapped that bastard in plastic wrap and tossed in about nine bug bombs.

That'll take care of 'em. :)
