Hot Rods , Pinups , Dogs . Equality for all

I used to get in trouble in school for always pushing the issues and I guess old habits die hard. Please accept my apologies before hand if I offend anyone .
Earlier this week The HAMB Pin-Up club post was closed after a day or so and the last thread read that "this wasnt a Hot Rod related topic".
Yet in September a post show me your "Shop Dog" was listed and has 14 pages of activity. Who said Pin Ups arent Rod related? Follow the reasoning for a minute if you would.

Hot Rods attract guys. Who attract girls. Who in order to compete for the guys attention ,with the Hot Rod, dress in provacative attire and have been known to pose near Hot Rods.Since they dont always have a 100% success rate , sometimes a loveable furry mammal is secured to keep things quiet..

Think about it .

Hot Rods break to get the attention of the guys. In order to give the rod the necessary repairs requires raiding of the household coffers which now triggers the equality in spending guidelines and the Pin Up
now requires clothing and household expenses. Now to keep the guy distracted from spending time and money on the rod its not been uncommon to see the provacative clothing used. Unfortunately if this is used in the garage area and the guy has been working too long on the rod sometimes the dog gets locked in the garage . After a while most dogs catch on and warn of anyone approaching . This puts the dog back in the good graces of the guy because if the Pin Up approaches the garage the next day the guy knows the chances of getting some 2 days in a row is very slim and allows him to hide any remaining unspent funds. In turn the dog gets fed. Eventually the dog figures out how to keep in the good graces of the guy by keeping the guy supplied with beer from the fridge. This in turn raises the bar for the Pin Up who in order to trump the dog starts to visit the garage naked with a 6 pack of beer. Some have abandoned the beer and even have pitched in to get the rod running .In the mean time the rod discovers its neglect and decides to run perfectly thus bringing the entire group back into harmony. Fantasy or reality it doesnt matter.
As you can see all are related.
Please remember that the gals are an important part of the Hot Rod Culture and should never be forgotten. We all know " Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned". Maybe the powers to be will be more considerate of them in the future.

 

Sure, but there's plenty of places to get pinup and **** material elsewhere.

If the mods let one skin thread slide, there's gonna be a hundred. Probably not the case with shop dogs.

He's got a good point though, showing skin and showing dogs are worlds apart...one's easily going to get out of hand rather than the other...my advice, just let it go and that's that...

i think we could probably "get away with" a pinup girl thread but the stipulation is that there needs to be a hot rod in the picture. not just some chick laying on a bear skin rug. when it boils down to it, two things really get me going, girls and cars. not necessarily in that order.

 

Not that I don't agree with you. Who doesn't like a good pin-up every now and then? But I can't recall seeing anyone's shop dog spread eagle in a bikini.

I'm just sayin'...

 

I thought the whole "not hot rod related" thing was funny. I wanted to say that most of the pinups were hot, and you can insert your own rod joke!

Ha ha ha that was ****in funny. As far as the topic goes? The mods are only human- let them draw the line when they need to

 

and you can look at a dog at work but if you get caught looking at pin-ups tha site your looking at(ie this one) could get locked out to you

 

Im not here to check out the chicks, but Pin-Ups are one of my favorites things to check out. I think they have more reason to be here than the "so this guy walks into a bar" threads, but there are better places to find Pin-Ups out there than the HAMB, but there is no other place quite like the HAMB for Traditional Hot Rods & Kustoms. Im happy that I was lucky enough to enjoy the HAMB Pin-Up club while it lasted. I cant wait till someone starts another. It will be short and sweet like the last one I imagine but oh well, thats not why we are here is it?

 

I like cheese. How 'bout a thread with pictures of cheese? Would it be better if there was a hot rod in the picture, too?
