Hey everyone, i have been lurking these borads for awhile. I am Aaron, from Hazen, North Dakota. (aka BFE) I am 25 yrs old, and have been builing rods since i was 12 or around there. My father has been building them since i can remember. Went to college for machine tooling, and currently employed as a Machinest. Current project is a 26 t Roadster. Will Post pics with this of that. Other projects include 1949 chev buisness coupe, thats 250 chev 6 powered, with a custom split manifold, Clifford Aluminum 4 barreel intake, big crane cam, Saginaw 4 speed, and a Nova Rear mounted on the 2.5inch nova leafs, with a 3.42 posi.(there were fewer buisness coups built in 49 than converts, just a interesting bit of info) Mustang 2 front suspension also. My T is pretty basic, 8" ford rear with a T spring mounted over, Homemade 2x4 tube frame, Suicide style 48ford front end, Deuce spring on handfabbed mounts, 46-48 ford hydralic lever shocks, Vega steering... Also 292 chev powered with a homeade lakes style header, and a Mercury Marine 2 pot intake, with Ford Holley carbs, with the glass float bowls planned for it. My fathers projects were 38chev 2door sedan rod(sold), Currently 31 A, 364 nailhead powered, 2x4s, 3 and overdrive manual. 53 Buick Riviara 2dr Hrdtp. and now for the pics. this is a pic of the front suspension..
Great lookin' T bone. Dont think ive ever seen a T with a chevy six in it except for in pics of old top end cars.
Geez - two inline six engines - you're almost as sick as me. That T looks like it'll be a real kick in the pants to drive when its done. Welcome to the HAMB.
Welcome Dakota , (or do i call you "North" for short). Nice T. Like the fact that your running a six in it, "old school" roundy pounder style. Looks like you'll fit right in here.
Just curious what you all thought, the car is gonna be dp40 black primer, and i am trying to think of an accent color for the wheels, all i know is i dont want red. Ford apple green was brought up, and i got the closest i could find for the wheels that are on it now. It is going to be running Kelsey 16" wires all the way around, with 550-16, and 750-16 tires. just looking for a little imput, i got the tires and wheels all done and ready for paint and i want to get it all done and mounted so i can see where its gonna sit. Any ideas?

Hey man, that's a great T! I really like that you're using a 292 in there. It looks the part for sure. Nice job on the exhaust too. All of your fabrication looks very clean and nice. What did the shocks come out of?
Welcome! I just picked upa 27 body this afternoon, (In a pair of shorts and a t-shirt) I'd like to see a closer pic of those front spring mounts too. I was going to do quarter elliptics but that looks much easier and simple-er. You gave me an idea for mounting my rear axle too.

Your intro is about the way I would have wanted mine to be,I didnt post any pics.The T looks to be well thought out and has a lot of good ideals.I like the over all look of it.Also like the non-cookie cutter engine choice.I am building a 27 myself,mines not that far along.Nice intro-good job.
Well, there will never be enough machinists in the world of Hot Rodding. The T is sweet, brake the mold and paint the wheels cream wih a red stripe I just wanted to say that. Welcome friend The PknBner
Hey TomH, and Eyeball, you all have them 2 to blame for showing me this site =) Southfork, Yea i am close to Zap here =), Not ALOT of tin around much anymore, pretty picked over. Still can be found if you look hard enough though. I dug this Touring body out of the ground just north of town here, when i was in highschool. but i knew about that car from when i was little, and my Dad even knew about it from when he was a kid. It was no prize though thats for sure. Those Spring perches are just made out of 3/8 angle iron bent, and formed to the Webbing of the axle. the Shackle end of it is DOM seamless tube thats been reamed to size. Its pretty simple actually, before it goes out on the road, they will be tacked to the axle in a couple spots just as a saftey thing, and the bolts will all be locktite'd of coarse. They dont flex or give or anything, and opn a car this light i dont think it will be much of a big deal. The SHocks, someone asked are the Lever hydraulic ones form late 40's fords... I used 56 ford backing plates and brakes up front, and hubs, on the stock spindles. that Stock t Gas tank in the pics is Not gonna be used as the gastank, the tank is a homeade one thats gonna mount behind the body, I am just gonna cut that T one in half and hinge it and make a little storage trunk for the rig. SO i have somewhere to put a coat and or stuff and be able to lock it up. The cream ideas for the wheels is something i might consider, its different, we will see. I dig your front spring mounts... are those welded on to the axle? The iron cross is a little too Jesse James for me though, Keep up the good work. Sam.
Nope they arent Welded to the axle, they are bolted through the webbing with 2 5/8 bolts on each perch.
