    How long does it take before I should drive? I put this on my rear of my oil pan in front of the flywheel. It says 24 hours to fully cure but do I really need to wait that long? :confused:

    If it says wait 24 hours...I would wait 24 hours.

    dunno, how easy is it to pull the pan down and fix it if it leaks?

    No, the mfg know nothing about it's product. Drive that ****er! :rolleyes:

    I've seen worse questions here, but I just can't remember when.

    WTF? Just because a MFR puts a recommendation doesn't mean it's always the same amount. Most company's do a lot of CYA by making the number a lot larger then the real time.

    Maybe I should reword my question. Has anyone ever used this RTV before and driven it in less time than the MFR recommendations? If so, what were the results...

    While we're on the subject, my Motor's manual tells me that I need to torque my flattie to 65-70 ft/lbs and to work my way up to the final torque in 2-3 steps. Can't I just reef 'em down once and get it over with already???

    if your trying to cure a leaking oil pan seal by using that stuff on the outside of the pan, you better wait as long as you can...and I still dont think it will work for ya, you would be better off to drop the pan and replace the seal

    You're right. I'd guess you could drive it in 12 hours. When it starts leaking, re seal it, then wait 13 hours and drive it. When it starts leaking again, reseal it and drive it in 14 hours. When it starts leaking again, reseal it and drive it in 15 hours. When it starts leaking again...

    let us know what happens.

    That's one of the biggest problems with the internet and forums in general. You get too many people who will write things they would never say in to your face. Internet courage, just a mouse click away...

    Yeah, most people don't call others immature when they're asking a question.

    "When arguing with an idiot, make sure they're not doing the same." That's why I refuse to argue.

    I think even a 10 year old would have been smart enough to read and follow the directions. Good call on that one...
