Does anyone know a good source for piano hinges?

I'm rebuilding the tailigate on my '53 chevy wagon and would like to replace the hinge while I'm at it. It's a 52" long piano hinge. Since you can see the hinge from the back of the car, I'd love to replace it with a chrome one, but I'll settle for a painted steel hinge. Anyway, does anyone know a good source for large piano hinges?

 

most hardware stores carry them. different lenghts, widths, and they come in polished br***.

I thought I seen where someone was repop the 49-54 chevy wagon hinges. Unfortunately I can not remember who

 

Fastenol Co. can order any size you want and in stainless steel , so you can polish it,

 

I found what I was after, in stainless with no holes. I can drill it to match what I've got and then polish it. Thanks for the help guys.

McMaster Carr and Grainger would be good as well.

 

I used to use them on the hoods that I build. I tried the hardware store ones. They are nickle plated or br***. But better yet are the ones from McMaster-Carr. A large industrial supply house in Chicago. You can buy any kind you want.
