The judge reduced the scumbag thiefs bail to $20,000, and he bonded out today at around 5:30 pm on a surety bond. He put his shop, tools and property up as collateral. He's walking free, while it's going to take Rose weeks or months to fix his dragster. Welcome to America...

I still remember that car about 15 yrs ago at Union Grove dragway in Wisconsin coming up to the line with Broadway Bob riding on the nose drinking a beer. I hope he gets it back together soon cause that car has alot of history.

 

We should give Doug his car back. let him put it back together. Then for his first exhibition he should do a thief burn. Chain the thief to the back of the car and let Doug do his thing.

It was locked in a trailer, in the parking lot of the apartment complex he lives in. I don't know if he stores it there all the time, if he had just gotten back from a show and has another storage place he parts it at but didn't drop it off yet or what.
But, just to play Angel's advocate for a second, why does it matter where it was parked? Some scumbag who didn't own it, took it and cut it up. It wasn't his to mess with.
A guy should be able to park something of value in his parking lot and not worry about whether it's going to be there in the morning or not. And when it's not, we don't, as a society, need to look at him and say "Well, it's your fault you got ripped off...you know others out there don't have it as good as you and they're entitled to what you've worked hard for, and can take it if you don't keep it under lock and key."
Shoot theives on sight. Shoot the survivors again. And then award all their belongings to their victims. It won't make them ALL think twice, but it'll make enough of them think about it.

I'm not siding with the thief at all. I've lived in some bad neighborhoods and if I had something worth 250k- that shit would be triple locked with guards and rabid pit bulls that haven't eaten in a week. I live by the rule- if it ain't yours- don't mess with it. But this isn't a perfect world we live in, and modern news reporting being what it is- made it sound like the dragster was sitting out in a parking lot sans trailer. I wasn't trying to offend...just curious.
