Damn, I gotta start surfing at work. You guys beat me to all the funny stuff - Dropping a deuce, Removing seats from your car to make it a deuce, etc.

Yeah, I feel better about myself. Of course I'm proof that the stupid get to play too, but not that stupid...

The F prefix means it was built in Flint, not that it came from a Camaro. The G suffix, without additional letters, indicates a 55 or 56 265 or a 57 283.

According to two reference books I have, 283 engines were available in 67 Camaros. The MD suffix was with a 4 speed manual and the MJ suffix was with a powerglide, both were 195 hp 2V.

The two reference books I looked at were the Ultimate American V-8 Engine Data Book and the Chevrolet Small-Block V-8 ID Guide.

However, according to the Encyclopedia of American Cars, 67 Camaros did not come with 283 engines. In fact, I did not know 67 Camaros came with 283s until this evening, when I looked it up in my books. That's what I like about the HAMB; questions on here make me actually read the books I have instead of just look at the pictures!

When I was growing up, a deuce was always a 32 Ford. Nothing else. Later, people referred to Chevy IIs as deuces and Electra 225s as deuce and a quarters, but that's relatively new (like the 70s).

    A deuce and a quarter is a 225 slant six!! DUH!! ;)

Or would that be a "Deuce and a quarter SS".

jusjunk is a bit testy, eh? The term DEUCE refers to the build year - 1932 and nothing else. All body styles are referred to as Deuces. The Beachboys have it right - so does everyone but jusjunk - he's pretty clueless for a Deuce owner. I guess my Cobra is a deuce? - all my Healys were deuces? My pickup is a deuce?

"Oh you are SO smart . It's a 4 seater then . A quadruple coupe . Thanks for acting like a grammer school kid ( ha ha ) . Idiot . Why don't you go annoy somebody else you adolescent ***hole . You see the car . Look for someone elses . Idiot child . Act like the man you are supposed to be and stop the na na na na na na . "

in the early eighties I worked in an auto parts store that was in a neighborhood that the Buick Electra 225 was very popular. The customers all refered to them as "Brewik duece an a kwawta" and they all had a "foe fiddy fie with a foe bayell"

Could you imagine running into this guy at a show in your 36 3W...

I think I'd have to kill him on general principle...

    Dufus-says-wha... "Hey, nice Duece Coupe..."
    You "Thanks, but it's a '36."
Dufus-says-wha... "What does that have to do with anything?"
You "Wha.... A 'Duece Coupe' is a '32 Ford coupe"
Dufus-says-wha... "A 'Duece Coupe' is a 2 seat coupe... What an idiot." (He says smugly to his friend as he walks away with an arrogant grin on his face...)

Yeah, he'd die that day... Twice...

There is no way to argue with back-woods-yokle stupid, like that...

No matter how many people explain the extent of his stupidity, he will go to his death bed with the reasuring confidence that he's smarter than all those 'Duece Coupe' idiots...

He will in fact take up the cause of "educating" everybody to the "Correct" use of the term. This, in the face of countless magazine articles and other ignored proof of his House-of-cards mental prowess...

He is the Quadrouple-Amputee Knight with "Merely a Flesh-wound"....
He is the golfer that revels in having the course all to himself in the electrical storm...

Against all insurmoutable odds, he will cling to his stupid, with the tenacity that a fat kid will cling to the last piece of chocolate cake...

I truely admire him... He lives in a much better place....

Even if he has recieved 4 warnings it's going to be torn down...

I sent him a message saying that a Deuce coupe is a 32 ford. and that even the encyclopedia says so. See?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deuce_coupe

    His response:

I don't know why he's such an angry person...

Someone needs to tell him to get the sand out of his ****** and read this book:

Oh, and that 20,000 knowledgeable hot rodders are laughing their ***es off at his angry responses to intelligent corrections. If he wants to sell his car, he needs to get his head ot of his ***.

    Oh, and another nice link:

And of course, the cl***ic: http://www.roadsters.com/deuce/#Info

My friend drag raced a 32 5-window in 1955 and they were called deuces then. The Beach Boys, although very talented, were unheard of in 1955.

heheh... if hot rod terms were dictated by Beach Boys songs, door poppers would be called sellunoid systems. hahah

Hell I don't remember... went something like: Thanks for clarifying the definition of Deuce Coupe, I've always ***umed it was a term for Coupes with Mustang II (deuce) suspension. Either way, your car fits the bill!

    L@@K!:

I think y'all forgot roadster. Or dune buggy.

Too bad Seymour already sent him a link; I thought I'd let him share in the fun... this is almost as good as the thread re: naming Tingler's car.
