Didn't know. I'm sorry I missed that one. It's still the best though. The movie one is the shit! AG movie did have plenty. Love that movie. thanks,
Ya wanna see the looks ya get when ya say 12 cylinders at karaoki! I can't count the times I've had to tell folks that Charlie Ryan wrote this song about his own car and its real!I used to have a picture of it from Street Roder Magazine from abot 10 years ago when they did a write up on Charlie and the car
haha yeah I'm a noob but listen to it: spoken lyrics and therefore basically rap. Obviously 2 pac and MC hammer werent inspired by Charlie Ryan so its totally unrelated to any other rap but spoken lyrics nonetheless...
"my hooptie" by sir-mixalot is still the best car song of all time "tinted window with a bubble in the middle"
when I saw this I just thought, been there done that, as per previous post. But am I happy I checked it out I had never seen a pic of Charlies legendary car. Thanks for posting up that killer info. He really deserves that recognition. Last summer deiselbilly king Bill Kirchen was in Omaha to thrill us with his rendition of HRL. Bill carried the HRL torch with Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen for many years, playing it at every show. Rock On-Sololobo
Waay too new school for the hamb but my favorite cruising song is "Rev on the Redline" by Foriegner. Might as well but in my opinion while Ive got people pissed at me for calling Charlie Ryan a rapper anyway. The Lake Avenue in the song is right here in town but havent seen much street racing on it.
Eazy-E] Cruising down the street in my 6-4 Jockin the freaks clocking the dough Went to the park to get the scoop Knuckleheads out there cold shooting some hoops A car pulls up who can it be A fresh El Camino rolled, Kilo G He rolls down his window and he started to say It's all about making that GTA 64 impala, el camino, looking at chicks, doesnt get more AMERICAN than that !!
How 'bout Howie Stange's "This Old Bomb of Mine" That one's killer and it's about my kind of car....P.O.S. with big plans! Johnny
A vivid childhood memory from around 1972 or so is a 10 year old me sitting in the Back of my Dads ’53 Olds 88 (Two door sedan, 303, three on the tree w/a JC Whitney glass pack single exhaust) and him leaving the car run for me until that song was over.
