Friend of mine is picking up a 63 chevy nova... and he needs ideas.

NOT looking for g***er or hot rod/muscle looks. Think lowered and custom'ish.

    Whatcha got?????

i know you didnt ask for 62's,,and i dont have any pics on the computer,,
but midways through my my senior year at mountain view i blew up the engine in my 68 camaro for the second time from street racing ,,so i picked up a new ride,,,it was a cherry'd out 62 2dr hardtop, straight six automatic,,blue with blue cloth interior,,pinner white 13's ,black steelies and dog dish hubcaps,,,the pinner whites were a gift form my parrents,,they agreed to either rent a limo for my senior prom or skinny whites for the nova and drive it to the prom,,hahaha,,,...i drove to my senior prom in my 62 nova! hahaha,,that car was bad,but bone stock,i had a "BONES" powell peralta sticker on the back gl*** and a **** tail on the rear antenna and someone stold it off at a party,,,about a year later i sold it to my uncle in winnettka to get my camaro engine built and interior & paint,,he still has it to this day,,****er wont sell it back,,hahaha

Anyway...pardon the monochromatic pink, its was hella hot, in the day...

'65, pre-bags, so it was statically lowered, which means I Z'd the front a-arms and used blocks in the rear...

145 x 14 front tires (spares from an MGB) and 195 x 14 in the rear...

200 louvers in the hood, 180 or so in the trunk, 25 in each front fender, about 100 in the package tray, even put one in the ashtray and a few in the glove box door...it was not fun to color sand and buff.

The grille is stock '65, I just removed the center bowtie medallion, and aluminum-brazed in an extra grille bar...and then louvered some 20ga panels, and welded them into the bumper when I shaved the bumper bolts

In these color pics, it has stock wheels, painted turquoise (hey...it was HELLA hot...then), stock dog dish caps, shaved door handles and gas filler door.

    Thanks for the pics guys.....

Looks like on the Nova front there may not have been a lot of customizing beyond muscle/sleeper looks.

So let's try another early 60's boxy car that might provided the needed inspioration. ANY EARLY 60's FALCONS?

Yeah custom and Nova dont really go hand in hand. My gf and I just got a 67 2 dr ht, 1 owner original 250/3 spd and supposed posi (factory) but Im going to just get it running/driving and keep it a stocker unless maybe a 327/auto setup in place of the 6. I mostly mess with custom stuff so this will be a nice little change of pace. Very excited.
