I have some 42-8 spindles. Will these work on a 28- 31 axle?Looking to also do a disc brake conversion.

If they are passenger car spindles, yes, these are the common ones everyone uses.

How can I tell if these spindles are from a passenger car? They are currently on the axle 42-48.These are the square type spindles. Per Speedway catalog. But I decided to use a spring over axle type instead of the spring foward for my build.Seems to look better for my Tudor T.Is there any modifiying that would need to be done for this interchange?

Thanks for the replys so my understanding is that these spindles 42-48, will fit directly on a 28-31 axle without modifying the axle? Also is the 28-31 axle narrower than the 42-48?Thanks again this helps me answer alot of questions that I have during my build,One more question I seem to think that I can build this rod for around the 3000-3500 dollar range am I nuts thinking this. keep in mind I plan on using all used components engine,tranny.wheels,etc...

Yes, The A axle is a couple of inches narrower. The spindles will go on and fit perfectly. Use the king pins for the spindles, not the axle. Good luck

I intend on using them as well but I think they need to be bushed as they are wider than the A spindle but I am not sure. I will try to compare to an A spindle later. Maybe someone knows about this. I think you can buy new king pins and they come with these bushings??? But again I am not sure.

A king pin kit will come with the bushings and the bearings and everything. The load ball bearing goes under the axle and above the lower boss on the spindle. The opening goes down. Take the spindles and bushings to a auto machine shop and have them fitted. The king pins vary in diameter so make sure each pin is fitted to the spindle it goes to.
