Anyone have and tips on how to best sift through all the great posts that show up here ever day. Usually I have 5 or more pages of new posts and it takes like a couple of hours to go through them all. Thanks
You can save yourself some time by skipping threads that have the following phrases in the ***le: - What is this worth - Rat Rod - New Tattoo - Latest issue of _____ - MIG or TIG (aka Which Welder) Feel free to add others....
I wish there was a way to keep a file of favorite posts. There is so much info I'd like to keep. It does take about an hour a day to keep up and if I don't, it's like not having my ,morning shower.
There is. Click on the Thread Tools box once your in the thread and subscribe to it. Or, if you post in the thread you automatically subscribe to it. To go back later, click on User CP at the top of the page and click on "subscribed threads"
I skim the ***les, and open the ones that look interesting in a new window. Once I've gone through all the pages, I'll go back and read the ones I've opened.
To keep up I have to check in at least three time a day or more. TIP : If you put your cursor over the index thread ***le and hold it there for a sec or two, a little box pops up giving you the first several lines of thread, and more info without going there. This can save you some time and let you know if you would like to read that thread or not...H
also, set your prefrences to show the maximum number of posts per page, if you have a fast internets connection. that way you spend less time clicking.
Yep. That's exactly what I do. I also pull the RSS feed into Bloglines.com so I know when new threads come up- but it doesn't work for new posts on existing thread. The only thing about the tabs for each thread is if you have a new PM, you get hammered with the alert box on each tab you opened before you read the PM.
The RSS Feed works for you? I tried putting it in my "My Yahoo" page but it doesn't update. I've got to mess with it again.
