Actually, I just saw Pinkee's RPU at Barret-Jackson.

    It brought $190K.

    They seemed dissapointed.

    Cool truck.

I love the Pinkee's rpu. The Posies one is really damn cool, but I don't like the tires, the tube front axel, the intake or the indy-car frame. The interior of both cars knock me out.

    Goldchain-Rat?

I like both. I would rather see a x-cab model A pickup closer to Jeem's drawing. A different motor wheels and dash and it would be cool.

I like the less is more philosophy. Maybe because I can't afford more so I make do with less....much less...

Don't need no stinken cl***ification. I never built a car to be a certain syle but mostly used what I had. Hot rodding should not have rules. Do what you like even if it is not my choice. Learn from the dare-to-be different guys.

Hey, if we didn't have labels you might accidently drink rat poison!?!

They're well done. The RPU is smothered in craftsmanship. I too dislike the dash in the Posie's car. Something about it doesn't work for me. Well executed but seems like too many elements? But I don't wanna be a keyboard critic. The build on both is top notch. Niether one looks like rat poison:D

They're both LOOKERS, you could spend a good part of a day looking at both of them. I'd like to see the RPU with a full hood, but seeing someone sitting in it would ruin the look I'm sure.

It's odd that some think the unpainted version is the "second" car. There are only two cars in this post, and the second one is cool no matter what color.

I don't like the Posie car. Sounds like the Jeem version could have been cool.

This interior kinda reminds me of a Chris-Craft... very cl***y, but very sporty, too.

    This RPU is just beautiful.

I've come to the conclusion that here are only 3 labels for ALL cars...stockers, hot rods and customs. Even though I couldn't afford the rims for one of these three, they fall solidly into the nicely done hot rod cl***ification.

Methinks we spend too much time thinking about this 'label' **** that could be used for more constructive purposes.

"Modern street rods taking hints from traditional hot rods" They are definately to be admired for thier quality, they are not what I would build, but closer than many cars out there.

Wow this seems to be a real problem but I think I have a sloution. Send both cars up here to Rochester. I'll keep them hidden when Im not driving them...and when I am driving them I'll just be sure to go fast enough that no one can really get a look at them. If no one can see them no one will get confused or upset. Sound fair?

Wow ... the level of craftsmanship on those cars is visibly really good, but I really have mixed feelings on the stylistic directions they've taken. The one thing that I will say I just don't plain like is their wheels.

Interesting point of view. I've never seen the fence. I've had the chance to do several big dollar cars, though nothing like those 2. Now I'm lost...the fence?

Give me the opportunity and I'd gladly build a foo foo for someone. Now, I ain't too sure what a foo foo is. Holy ****, is it ever hard to communicate at this level...too low for me.

It probably runs a slow 17 secs but man...it looks great great cruisin down the 1/4 mile :)...seriously you take this "ratrod" "goldchainer" thing wayyyy too seriously

btw, its a custom...not a hotrod, if you knew the difference we wouldn't be having this conversation...hahaha

Dude you rally have no clue do you. You are totally in the wrong place.

Fast does not a hotrod make.

i have seen traditional Hotrods TO a T, that you know cost more than 100k to build. Does that make them goldchainer?

Things have gotten mighty retarded in here. haha

EXECUTIONER: Stop with the big ****ing letters. It's annoying and obnoxious. (Perhaps thats your forte though?).

As for your opinion on the cars, your first post about them being "gay gay gay" kinda seems to sum up what you've got on the brain. So if you don't mind, the rest of us who actually appreciate all cars and not just the ones that are cool to like would like to get back to talking about cars....

I think the cars in question are amazing. They're quite literally rolling artwork. As for what I'd cl***ify them as... I dunno. But frankly, I don't care.

I think that cl***ifying something like this is kind of stupid. Especially when you are getting too specific. Of course we need cl***ification... rod is not the same as a muscle car. We also need more specific cl***ifications as a g***er is not the same as a lakes car. But when you're getting into arguing the specifics of cars like this simply because they were expensive to build and they have one off custom wheels? That's just arguing for arguings sakes...

Funny part is, we all know that if everyone who complained about these cars saw them at a show and the owner was just some joe schmoe and he said "Yeah, took me 10 years to build it, but I did it all myself" the tune would change and there would be some serious *** kissing going on...

It's that exact thing that happens to be the "dark side" of hot rodding. The people who are trying to set the standards and follow th rules (to be accepted).

Hot rods and custom cars in general are all art. They are a visual/mechanical representation of ones self and ones idea of the "perfect car". That can't really be judged as it's an opinion, and you can't judge an opinion. It's not black and white. There is no right and wrong.

NOW PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ****ING GOD, STOP WITH THE ******* CONTEST YOU TWO.
