Does any one know of any good sources for metal band saw blades and the "tires" that go on the wheels? Preferably in the Long Beach Area. I have a Delta/Rockwell 14" (I think) Thank you BYC
Metal band saws don't have rubber tires. The ones I've been involved with have steel wheels both drive and driven - with a ledge or step along with a slight angle on the axles to keep the non-toothed back of the blade against the step.
I use a place in Santa Ana on Richey just at South Lyon Street (south of Edinger North of Warner) by the 55 fwy. I don't have there card with me, can get it tonite if you need it. pm me.
Thanks Guys! I got another reccomendation off line. I'll throw it out there for others that are looking at this post... Paramount Saw 15014 Paramount Blvd. 562-633-0606 Just North of the 91 on Paramount Blvd
Yea, I've used the Milwaukee Port-a... And my Rockwell/Delta says Metal/Wood right on it and it has tires too... So the the parts list. Not knockin... just sayin. BYC
I just thought I'd throw this out there. Recently, I've been using a table saw with a metal-cutting blade and it works well. Thanks, Kurt
There is a huge machinery dealer in downtown L.A. I can't remember the street or the name, but is right next door to SUPERCO CUSTOMS. There is a lot of metal working machinery there. I'm sure they could help you.
For blades: Industrial Blade 2230 S. Ritchey Santa Ana, Ca 714 557-4131 For parts: Delta Customer Care 800 382-2922 fax Have them send you a schematic for your model if you dont have one. It really helps.
