help with vin number

    just picked up a 31 model a sedan with no ***le. what i need help with is where is the vin located at? the fenders are still on the car. do i need to take the front fenders off? thanks for the help

    Top of the frame between steering box and cowl.
     
  3. actually , on an A it is on top of the frame underneath the cowl...you have to lift the body to see it

    We'll almost correct as not only will you need to lift the body you will also need to lift the splash apron and the frame webbing. What everyone failed to mention is this is on the drivers side. Once you find the number then you just pray that no one else has used that number to register another Model "A" in another State....it just starts with finding the number. Good Luck in your quest to getting the car registered and yours!

    and most of the time the area is so rusted and pitted that you can't read it!...

    Ford used the engine number,a nd then stamped the rail with that number, and not usually very deep....

    Get a good ***le and just use that number....

    the engine is still in the car where might i find the engine # thanks for the help
