OT to this post but Racefab you should go there yourself. I don't know if he is still there or not but years ago there was a race engine shop in Brighton run by Jack Conley. He was buildIng 427 and 454 small block Chevy engines back before ANYONE else. and he didn't have the benefit of the new thick wall/ various deck blocks that we have today. His customers were a lot east coast Super Mod round trackers. He ran a nice , small well equiped shop that hardly anyone knew about around here, real low key. It's been 25 years since I was there last so he may not be around anymore. Anyone from that area know for sure? Frank
A huge freaking thanks to everyone that replied and PM'd. this place never ceases to amaze me. looks like I have everything covered. many many many thanks. Fred
Glad you were able to git 'er done, Fred. Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope your holidays are safe and restful. John
I know this is a couple year old post but ya jack is still around although I havent talked with him in about 6 months.. He was best friends with my dad who p***ed away 2 years ago.. Jacks son owns a shop in brighton also and he is building race engines and stuff.. Ive never been to his shop but i have stories of being at Jacks shop ... I found this post after a google search for jack while i was looking at an old oswego speedway site.. Dave
I also am from here but found this thread looking for another buddy of mine. I am here if ya need anything though. As long as I'm on here I might as well ask to my fellow Brighton Michigan people. Someone broke into my company lot and stole 3 Boss plows. You can view pictures of them on our snow removal livingston county web page. Please if anyone comes in contact with anyone that is in the business of buying and selling snow and ice equipment ask them where they obtained the plows! Hopefully they are dumb enough to try to resell them locally! Thanks!
