After gettign rid of my 54 Bel Air I still had some ideas in my head. I tried to supress them and finally gave in. Here is the next one in line. It is a shell which I prefered. Big plans....We'll see.

The 57 is ChrisinPhilly's bad*** cruiser.

It isn't a Merc Mazdaslam...but it is ok. I am hoping to have all the pieces for the frame that I need by the summer. Then I can start on the frame. After that, most of the body is done. I am going to look for a p***enger door and redo the rear quarters...Nothing but time and cash. Thank God for shutdowns and OT.

    Larry,

Good luck with the '53. That's the first time I've seen Chris' '57. BAS ***! Every other time I've seen him around, he's been in his Impala.

    Psssst....

Look at '53 Pontiacs for one-piece bumpers. I got a set from a HAMBer, and the front looks identical to a Chevy.

Rears are just different enough that you would need to modify the splash pan or quarters.

But if you're cutting up the quarters anyway...

I never thought of that. Funny thing that I have a 54 Pontiac and still didn't think of it. Thanks.

Big Block? I am not a fan...pesonal opinion...of bbc ans sbc. If it gets a v8 it will be something different. Probably a Poncho motor. That is why I am leaning towards a inliner.

go with an overhead cam pontiac six! Just a 250 chevy with a better head. Find them in 60's ponchos.

    A 2.8 V6 is a slam-dunk!!:D

Smooth, reliable and economical to a fault...and it makes as much or more power than any 216 or 235! Dirt cheap and small in size...making them easy to drop into anything!
