After gettign rid of my 54 Bel Air I still had some ideas in my head. I tried to supress them and finally gave in. Here is the next one in line. It is a shell which I prefered. Big plans....We'll see. The 57 is ChrisinPhilly's bad*** cruiser. Larry
Going to do air ride, 4-link, chopped with a 250 banger motor I am thinking. I have it in my head...now it is just getting it to metal. Larry
Hey Larry, looks like a nice start. Did i meet you at Rock n rods this past spring? I think you might of approached me, i was wearing the newer black Hamb shirt ( I think). What part of philly are you from?
Wasn't me. I just got back from Mexico (sick as a dog) that day so I couldn't make it. :ived in Center City then South Phila....Moved to Chester County. Living the dream....I need a bigger garage. Larry
It isn't a Merc Mazdaslam...but it is ok. I am hoping to have all the pieces for the frame that I need by the summer. Then I can start on the frame. After that, most of the body is done. I am going to look for a p***enger door and redo the rear quarters...Nothing but time and cash. Thank God for shutdowns and OT. Larry
Larry, Good luck with the '53. That's the first time I've seen Chris' '57. BAS ***! Every other time I've seen him around, he's been in his Impala. Ed
his is a 54. cole foster also did another 54. jesse james also, 54 chevy. the monster garage custom, was a 54 too. I have a 53. maybe you got me confused with those fellas? I am pretty famous in my house. i got dibs on one if one becomes available.
Yo 53Sled. He was making a joke. And second, I think you are second in line for the one piece bumper. Thanks Chris trying to help me...that is why it was said. This car is goign to be cool. If I find another bumper I will let you know. Larry
Psssst.... Look at '53 Pontiacs for one-piece bumpers. I got a set from a HAMBer, and the front looks identical to a Chevy. Rears are just different enough that you would need to modify the splash pan or quarters. But if you're cutting up the quarters anyway...
I never thought of that. Funny thing that I have a 54 Pontiac and still didn't think of it. Thanks. Larry
Big Block? I am not a fan...pesonal opinion...of bbc ans sbc. If it gets a v8 it will be something different. Probably a Poncho motor. That is why I am leaning towards a inliner. Larry
I picked up DirtyTs mess on Sunday. 53 4 door bondo machine! Motor is stuck so looks like I'm going to upgrade it as well. Never thought about what fits before, so...what fits?
A 2.8 V6 is a slam-dunk!! Smooth, reliable and economical to a fault...and it makes as much or more power than any 216 or 235! Dirt cheap and small in size...making them easy to drop into anything!
I have a couple Pontiac 350 and 400's that are pretty close to built that woul dlook good in there. We'll see. Right now I am trying to finish this truck and get the suspension parts I need from Gambino's. Larry
Chester County? Welcome to the burbs! I lived in Downingtown for twenty years, now in Reading area. Good luck with the new ride. If you ever want to get together to talk cars or springer spaniels, let me know.
Fat Hack, Never thought of that 2.8L, got one in an S10 frame out by the barn...can I get ignition and carb for it old style not EFI?
