Actually I asked WHERE to find www's on such a tire size and IF it can be done. Not do you like...

So does anybody know if I can get wide whites on a beefy tire like these?

As far as a "Turd and Jelly sandwich" i don't find my vehicle falling into the shitpile category, as someone elluded to. With that said, careful what you say, i don't recal myself calling your vehicle a "turd"...haha

second the chrome. chrome and a wheel change would make one helluva difference. a stock rearend would be cool too.....whatever-its pretty nice like it is.

not when it embraces the style of cars!
this site is about TRADITIONAL style hot rods and kustom cars period.
not re in venting the wheel like your wanting to do.
any one can build there car how they wish, its when you try to do differant and want to fit in "the scene'' that it dont work.thats what the do at olskol rods not here.

OK obviously this topic got a little OFF TOPIC...

So who else may have the pertinent information that I asked for originally that can help me make my truck "FIT IN THE SCENE"?

Just busting chops here, but could really use some help on this.

Thanks Bones for the PM, I will look into it.

That depends on which "scene" you're trying to fit in with. If you want to get a more traditional look, you might consider putting a stock width rearend in it, with the original 50s steel wheels and WWW tires, as I suggested earlier. If you are trying to make your own scene, kind of an OSR'd pro-street ride, I think there were some suggestions about portawalls or tire paint.

You probably won't find real wide tires with whitewalls on them....but I could be wrong, not everyone's tastes are as FUd as mine

yeah, but you're considering making a turd and jelly sandwich, and I can tell by the smell that I ain't gonna like it.

I just wanted to see this up here again. It pretty much sums it up. You can't, or shouldn't put whitewalls on a pro-street tire. Like they say... if ya gotta ask....

Honestly, if you're just fishing for atta boys and "be different, go for its" go here: http://forum.olskoolrodz.com/

If you want to learn what traditional hot rods are all about, watch and learn. Maybe pick up a book or two....

It's a nice street machine, with a nice street machine stance... it is what it is.... it is not a traditional truck, and pig-lipstick whitewalls and red painted rally wheels are not going to make it any better. Good luck.

If I wanted to go to OSR I would have asked but I figured there was a more knowledgable crowd here.

HEMI, I don't need attaboys from you, i didn't ask that question....

I guess some people are wrong for thinking outside the box!

There sharing the passion, in there own way, like we all do.

I wish i had a scanner, the only whitewall mickey thompson tires ive seen was on a model of a promod 49 mercury in a SAE issue, it looked great, and always wondered what it would look like on 1:1

which means that such tires most likely do not exist.

And I'm trying to explain why they don't exist.

sorry if a few facts get in the way of a good time....

  17. I'm goin to pretend I didn't read the scat match and just put in my two cents. Great truck, in my opinion, I would try and sell your current wheel/tire set up, then get some steelies, trim rings, some maybe 55 chevy dog dish, probably red on the wheels, and buy a set of wide whites from some one like Coker that mount and balance for free or nominal fee. Jackin with tire paint, port-a-walls, make for a lotta messin a maybe a mess! This body style is one of my faves, that white would sure take a badass striping job!! Enjoy your ride!!-Sololobo
