Well it worked with the first one, so keep her in your prayers. The first one at the beginning of the year was benign. This new one is also thyroid cancer. A tiny bit of the old affected tissue was left behind and moved up to her gland under her jaw, creating a new tumor. This one tested positive as cancerous thyroid tissue. So this time the doc is gonna get this tumor and then take the other half of her thyroid even though it isn't affected. This surgery will happen at the end of January a few weeks after the baby is born. He thinks afterwards she will just need radiation pills and do a bunch of tests to make sure it's gone.

A friend of mine had his Thyroid out about 10 years ago and he's doing fine still, the success rate is pretty high on the treatment. Prayers sent to you both.

Hey as hard as it is, keep your chin up and support your better half. I just lost my Mom due to cancer, however; Mom battled many different forms of cancer for the last 25 or so years.... Remember the best cure, is early detection and it appears the doctors are on top of your wife's medical situation... It almost seems the mental aspect is worse than the physical with cancer....
Remember vast advancements have been made over the years which were not there with my Mom...

Best of luck to your family, keep your chin up !!!

I had my whole Thyroid removed five years ago. Now I just pop a pill dailey and get a blood test about every 6 months and go on with life.

Our thoughts & prayers go out to you & your wife for a complete & quick recovery.

Best of luck. My wife is pregnant right now and I know I am frazzled even without the threat of cancer. God Bless.

We thank you all for the support. We are gonna be relying on others a lot with the double whammy taking down Stephanie. She has already gone through these before, just not together. My sister is just 2 doors down so she will be here alot whether she likes it or not. Gonna be 3 in diapers reeking havoc.
