The Don Lowe-built '58 is stunning. It's a perfect example of subtle mods that greatly enhance the look of the car without screaming that mods have been done. Very tasteful.

I personally have never been a fan of quad headlights, but I really dig the rear end treatment of the 58s, especially that killer decklid. So, what if we just combined the two? '57 front clip with some kind of cool headlight treatment (56 F-100, 56 cadillac, 54 Merc...), 58 hood, and 58 rearend with bonneville tail lights? you could chose from any of the trim packages...maybe mix it up. I think that'd look KILLER

There's a '58 on eBay right now that looks interesting. I wish I had a lot of money, or less debt, or a winning PowerBall ticket, or....

This is a cool thread....BTTT to get more eyes on it (and more and pictures in it).

Cool pics! What year were they taken, the interior shot looks to be a later version?

epinut--Thanks for the interest shown in the pictures of my 57 Ford. The first two were taken in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1960. In the early 1960's the compe***ion was intense, if you wanted to win in the car shows you had to continally make changes. The interior and engine compartment photos were taken in about 1964. They are excellent examples of what we were building back then. The interior featured a chrome dash, woodgrain steering wheel, and bucket seats with pearl interior. Plus the "then" updated electronics -- 7 inch TV, 45rpm record player in the glovebox, and a 4 track player -- 8 tracks had not been invented yet. The engine compartment featured all chrome firewall, all removable parts chrome and chromed 3 deuces.

hey man i'll show you some pictures of my '58.

the above picture was when i bought it, it had only 2 headlights, spikes, then i started working on it, i kept the spikes, they're made out of old caulking gun caps supposidly

now im thinkin of changing it to a olive green color with wide whites and dark red rims:

  28. A pic of mine, orig. in every way apart from cragars and blinds and a few decals.
I like it just like this, faded and worn thin paint in places and esp. the tail lights...:D
    Cheers,
