Well my buddy picked up a pretty nice cab, fenders, doors, rad shell, etc. for a '34 Ford P/U in Kazoo this past September. Too make a long story short, he is an automotive high school teacher, and he took the cab to school to work on, obviously with some of his students ***istance. The students get a real kick out of working on hot rods with a young teacher.....

Pretty Kool Teacher You May Say.....

Well one of the students crushed / destroyed the top of the drivers door.... No blood, hospitals trips for the student, just a real bad day at the office.

Would anyone happen to have the top portion of the drivers door who would be willing to sell this piece or even a bad door with a good top?

    Thanks....

How heck did the door get crushed?????????
My autoshop teacher drove a cool 40 coupe an I remember having to take the fenders off to repaint them. Man, if I would have dented them, he would have killed me=lol!!!!

is the door from a 34 ford panel truck the same?A friend of mine bought a panel body but last winter a m***ive pine tree fell on it and about cut it in 2. I think the drivers door is good ,the tree hit across the p***enger door and towards the back so from the doors forward is ok just some p***enger door damage

The cab and ""doors"" were mint on this truck he picked up in Kazoo, one of the reasons he jumped at the cab. The cab was sitting on a deuce frame on the hoist, one of the students opened the door while another student decided to put the hoist up in the air. The top of the door then caught a bracket or something fixed to the hoist pillar. I haven't been lucky enough to see the door as of yet, he just called me the other night trying to source out a donor door....

""Leon Renuad" is the top pf the drivers door available from your buddies 34 panel?

No thats right, no one to blame..... My buddy, who is the teacher, was pretty upset, however; he didn't say anything. The students felt very bad and they are both great students according to my buddy... Just one of those bad hot rod days.....

That's too bad, at least no one was hurt. I'll keep my eye out for a door, a friend of mine may have one. I'll check after Christmas.

Excellent thanks guys for your possible leads... These doors are hard to find at the best of times, at least he only needs the top portion of the door, as the bottom of his doors are very good.....

My buddy also understands he will probably have to buy the complete door....

    Thanks.....

I've got two junk '32 cabs. I'll double check, but I think 1 if not both tops are in pretty good shape. How much of the top does he need?

I have a complete door that I might be willing to trade for his damaged door.

I am building a roadster p/u out of a closed cab, so the top will get cut off anyway. I would like to see pics of his door before I commit to anything...

Hello everyone... I'm the high school teacher with the crushed 32-34 pick up door. (hotrod36) A very good friend of mine posted this message with out me knowing... Thanks Bud! I appreciate it.

To make a long story short, a student of mine crushed my door. I guess the door wasn't as strong as the hoist. On Thursday, we finally got the cab on the frame for mock up and 20 mins later I had tears in my eyes. I guess crushing a 32-34 door is worth the effort of getting the students into Hot Rodding. Better than driving Honda's... lol... They are great kids. They aren't learning if they are not making mistakes.

All help needed... Drivers door top preferred. I believe panel trucks are the same...

    Thanks everyone with all respect

Teachers who are into hot rods are cool. At least that is what I'm hoping; I start my student teaching on the third. Good luck finding a replacement door.

Post some pics of the '34. Before the crunch preferred but after would be o.k. too.

Funny story about crushed pickups (at least now it is looking back).... I saw a 32 cab at a swap but was too late to buy it. A buddy got it but only wanted the dash and firewall. Could I buy the rest? Sure, for a hundred. He'll bring it to the next swap a month later.

I ride to the swap with my brother in his ElCamino, and the cab just fits in the back. Man, this is heavy, we think, so no need to tie it down. Rides fine for an hour or so.

About a half hour from home we p*** between some hills, and fwoom! We spot a glimpse in the mirror and turn in time to see it tumble along the shoulder into the ditch. Immediate panic, then pain.

As we roll it up out of the ditch we see that the whole thing is intact, only now it's a parallelogram instead of square.

Moral of the story: ALWAYS tie down everything you value.
