I came across what appears to be a Model T Ford frame with solid wheels, didn't think to look at the tire sizes. Any info or pictures would be appreciated. Thanks, Joey.
If they have 30x3 1/2 tires they could be T accessorie wheels. I get first refusal, right? They could be a modern wheel attached to 26-27 hubs, again I'd be interested in the hubs. Photos would be great. Merry Christmas! Bob
Could be Chevy disk wheels (1928 and maybe 1926-27). Those are a way to get disk wheels without using the very hard-to-find accessory wheels like those made by Disteel. (Hopefully!) here is a picture from the Northwest Vintage Speedsters' website showing a car with these wheels. These wheels have a kind of funky concave look to them and take a 21" tire.
This my set of 27-28 chevy disc wheels ( 21 inch) on a T. I have a couple sets of these wheels pretty easy toadapt to a t hub. Lots of old speedsters used them.
those are 30 x 3 1/2" I have the same size on my speedster, they are an original set of Firestone wheels for a model T.
I wouldn't have thought they were 30" but those look right. Looks like I may have the start to my own speedster soon.
There is a museum in Bard, California just across the river a few miles from Yuma, AZ that has several "T"s with the solid disk wheels. As I asked around in my travels I was told that they were issued on Model T's to the military in the desert. Just a rumor but it makes since to me.
A 30 by 3 1/2 tire is measured by the outside diameter, not the rim size. So it is usually on a 21" rim. It's similar in size, but won't interchange with a 400 by 21.
Doh, I was wondering about that 30" wheel size, shows what I know. That pic of the last car with the Firestones looks like what I saw. What is a good set of 4 worth?
