Saw him in Waco TX in 1969 and got to talk to him after his performance for about 15 minutes in person. Cool guy, I had a lot of respect for him.

In 93 I had a brown 83 Buick 2 door Century. It was like a Lazy boy on wheels.

I put in a cassette of JB 20 greatest hits and it never would come out. For over a year I listened to that tape over and over.

    Good tunes. RIP

The last high school "garage band" I was in (1965?) was comprised of two Black guys...two Mexicans...and one Pollack (guess who I was!).

We had this guy who did a fantastic James Brown....voice, footwork, did the "splits" about ten times each show..

We had two guitars, two horns and drums....great band.

James Brown was a HUGE influence...

I once read that when one of his "Famous Flames" screwed up his part in any song, after the show Brown would make him play the ENTIRE show over again...alone...until he got it right!

    RIP

  11. I don't usually post twice in the RIP threads but man, this one is getting to me.
I hate that all the innovators are going.

Who the fuck is going to care when Paris Hilton dies?

    Know what I mean?

RIP godfather. I used to piss everyone off in the bar by playing everything they had from him back to back. Another one of the greats has left us:(

A little bit of humor in a time of sadness. The man with the timeless looks and the timeless music. R.I.P. James Brown. He had feet faster than Alvin Lee's fingers.
