I love the holidays it gives me more time to spend in the shop except this one. by the time you sit in mall traffic and lines to buy the gift that gets returned, stuff your face with way too much food, listen to the same family stories, go to new girl friends parents house. what did you get done?? I spent way too much time figureing out how to full enclose the foot well making the center console go all the way to the firewall. then had to make a panel to cover the bottom of the dash just because it was looking soo nice and clean.
didn't get much done... but I moved a nailhead, an olds and a Hemi in the garage and freed up some floor space.
I stuffed my face and can't move now.............. Nice welding job, but isn't it going to be hard to wire now with it all closed up like that?
welds came out like ****. I fought them because i was too lazy to change wire from .035 to .023 on the 22 gauge sheetmetal i used. the panel under the dash unscrews along with the panel to the firewall. they both got flanges rolled in them to give it a flush fit. still have to make a duct for the heater vent in the front panel
I worked 14 hours with my friend to weld up Stainless Steel Headers for the Roadster and then I installed Leather bucket seats. (Tech on this later!!!! I think they turned out Awesome!!! The Seats were originally Fine Leather office chairs that I won on Ebay for $18 each! Since they wouldn't ship them Gary55 from the HAMB volunteered to pick them up and diss***embled them for shipping.
This is how they look in the car...! I have other shots however they look "to orange" with the lighting!
finished wiring, fluid filling, tightening all nuts and bolts one last time, putting in driveshaft, and bleeding brakes on my 40 chev coupe (410sbc fed by a crossram with dual 500 carbs). A little gas and it's test drive time. And that's the point where I won't want it any more. All the fun will be gone once it hits the road. Oh well, it was still a good day.
Well I- Made a spacer to move my T-5 shifter up 1" which shortened the throw to an acceptable level. Also had to make the bottom of the shifter that goes into the trans 1" longer of course. Also made a new clutch linkage and changed the throwout fork behind my SBC in my '54. Put it all back together and drove it up and down the driveway for the first time since I painted the dash and motor compartment. It was a great day. I also cooked a ham and scallop potatoes, and now I am so full it hurts to type! Yes my wife is one of a kind. Merry Christmas, The Edwards family.
Wingnutz.......Great job on the seats. I love it when something looks that good and costs that little!!
Prolly pissed off the family...didn't make the show! BUT, I my inner deck lid for the T coupe went from a mangled and twisted rust bomb into a gem. I was putting this thing off, real happy that its done!!! Mike
Made a driveshaft xmas eve and worked on my parts list with a few ****tails! Xmas day we didnt do much. ordered about 700 bucks worth of parts on the net and only went to the garage 2 times and really didnt work while i was there! Leaving in a bit to pick up a seat for the roadster then im back working on it again. Dave
Tore my interior apart, got the seats ready to re-cover, put in the new gl***/ felt strips, got engaged, ate a ton of chex mix. the usual.
Well besides going to wifes step dads and mothers,And Step mom and fathers houses and her grandmothers house.Today my Dad is hauling my 56 IH pickup to the inspection.Mabie Ill have tags today!!!
I did the square root of **** all... Well, not true - only car related - non car related, I played with my boy most of the day!
