My dad might be thinking that this car used to be his.

It is a 1955 chevrolet handyman wagon with a chopped top. The car is painted in a purple suede in the last picture we found of it. It has 1956 packard taillights in the back. And the rear bumper looks to be moulded in too. Does anyone know who's it is? If it is his, it would have a early corvette IRS and a nova subframe up front.

    Just curious.

    Thanks, Keith H.

Yeah, I know, I'm looking for it right now. But I thought I'd throw it out there if anyone recognized the description off the top of their head.

I think Bruce Camboni of Shelton, Ct. owns that wagon. I seen it in Rhinebeck and it was pretty cool.

That's pretty wild..After staring at the pic. for a while, I'm not sure if I like the Packard tailights...To me they look a lil' big compared to the rest of the car..Lot's of nice workmanship though...

I have seen that '55 wagon at Rhinebeck, as well. It is even slicker in person... the pics don't do it justice.

The side gl*** windows are what amaze me on that car. I wonder if they're Lexan? Or custom made?

When my pops chopped the '55 he had TAP plastics make up a set of rear quarter windows. Don't remember what they were made out of.

I know the car. It was in the Monterey/Salinas, CA area around 93/94. I don't believe this would have been your dads car. I saw the car quite often and whom ever owned it was doing the work at that time. I would love to see that car again. I remember seeing it after the top was chopped, taillights added, and it was in purple primer. My jaw dropped.
