Neat neat stuff! It's amazing how much "stuff" is still out there!!!

 

It amazes me that people seem to know the value of this stuff WHEN THEY ARE SELLING IT, yet they still let it sit on a wooded hillside for 40 years!
Good for you guy's that your finally getting it out of there!

They were not driven there too long ago or else he has been keeping the trees cut down around them ever since.

Yeah, I'd dig about a foot deep into the ground in a 10 foot radius around that thing and sift it out archaeologist style to see what brackets and hinges fell off of it. That car is definitely fixable. Frames are easy enough to find.

Very cool stuff. Would like to hear some follow-up on this stuff once it's pulled out. The Caprice is almost worth fixing with that setup in it.

 

That's for sure! We were sifting through the debris with our hands and a rake. We found alot of the brackets, window handles and all those little parts that are peculiar to woodys. The cowl is in amazing condition considering it's been through 40 or so winters outside. That came home today.

 

Two words........"Metal Detector" ..... take one with you and walk around where the woodie was.

 

the value is in the brackets on those woodies. I can not believe they have not rotted away, that truck grill looks new.

What rides did the guy not want to sell, as what he is selling is wonderful..

What is that white stuff on the ground ...
we NEVER have any of that ...

 

Did I mention it was muddy? It wasn't easy dragging these things out of the woods. Tires were flat, brakes were locked and steering boxes were frozen and those were on the easy ones. The rest are a little deeper in the dirt.

I live in Northern Ma on the NH line and ride Vermont on weekends faithfully..... TONS of good scores left up there. That's the main reason that junkyard on sleezebay is in existance. A little cash goes a long way....... I found that if you go looking in Vermont , bring a pocket full of cash.... and pay for whatever you want right there ON THE SPOT.... because if you go back...for some reason their brains kick in and the price is double.

LOTS of stuff in Maine too......CHEAP! very repressed area for money.

Great find! I wish the trash in my woods was half as nice, or desirable. Anyone want a raccoon residence? It's had tenants for 35 years.


It's amazing what is left to rot in the woods of New England. My grandfather stuffed any free/cheap car he could get into the woods. He certainly wasn't the only depression era packrat.

I have been wanting to visit the northeast for awhile now. This is all the more reason to want to go.
