Hey every one, first off merry xmas to all you guys and gals, I need some help here finding a steering wheel for my kustom sled, she is a 54 desoto that has being fully customised, her name is Jaded Angel and she will be wearing a 50s styled Gene Winifield styled green fade away paint job in the next few months, the dash is now being customised at present but i only have my stock 54 desoto steering wheel, looks really boring, i would like to custom make one from green acrylic, the knobs will be custom made clear green acrylic but im worried the steerign wheel wont be legal or safe?? does any one have any suggestion on what steering wheel i should be looking out for, ie early 60s dodge etc, i would like some thing with alot of chrome or just different but elaborate looking??
try loooking at mooneyes or there some custom alll plex steering wheels, look for image of winfields caddy.
How nice is the stock '54 wheel? If it's decent, I'll buy it from you. That first pic is a '60 Dodge accessory wheel. I have one of those that I'd trade for the '54 wheel, but I don't have a horn button and it would need to be recast.
Hey Squablow, I would be really keen to trade to with you, but my 54 wheel has the horn ring broken, let me know if by chance you would still like to trade, other wise thanks for the offer,if you didnt want to trade for my wheel i would be keen to buy your steering wheel off you!! its hard to find any thing cool in New Zealand, all USA parts are so limited here, Cheers Emma-Jane
I got the ultimate kustom wheel (IMO)...Its the deep Pontiac one that you see in alot of kustoms...It needs to be restored but would be worth it i think....Send me a pm of your addy and i will look into shipping...
Theres a guy in florida who will make you any kind of acrylic steering wheel. He says there legal and safe. The name of his company is Billet and Acrylic fantasies. He made me some aluminum pieces for my race car. Very talented person.
Kool, Do you have his email addy or does he have a website? i have some great ideas for a steering wheel and a shifter knob, but dont want to buy any thing off the shelf, Cheers Emma-Jane
