Rally America has a new product and I thought some of you might like to know about it. We call them "Dummy Studs". If you've got multi lug wheels and have wanted to run without hubcaps so the lug nuts show but thought showing the extra hole in you wheel was ugly, this is for you! It's a little stud that goes in from the back of the wheel so you can put an extra lug nut on to cover the hole. It's got allen hex on it so you can get it nice and tight too.
    Here's so pictures

Makes it look like a big rig wheel.
Can you push them in from the front and paint the end to match the wheel?

Looks like it will just take twice as long to change the tires.

Just the thing I've been looking for! I've always wanted to play russian roulette with a four way to the teeth when changing wheels and tires.:D Aw thhhhhhit, must be the nextht one over.

Seriously though, I'm not really sure the 1 ton look is any better to look at than the empty uni*** holes.

I'd always thought some kind of spider with stamped "knuckles" between the lugs would work to make smoothie style wheels look more like OEM style centers.

Jimmy i hate to say it but id put that back on the shelf! I can imagine anyone running without caps on steel wheels anyway if they have dual patterns. Good idea though i just dont think its gonna fly

Now, wait a minute. You could use the "Dummy Studs" with lug nuts to hold on the spider and then you would be able to tell which lugs held the wheel on. When you removed the wheel the spider would stay with the wheel.

for some reason I think that looks kind of cool. sure would get people guessing as to WTF is going on there. maybe use 2 different lug nuts.. long pointy ones and shorter regular ones.

...someone used those metal hole plugs that you can get to plug holes in your dash or on firewalls: they just pop on, are real flat and can be painted to match. I think they make em in plastic too.

You are going to get a indecent exposure ticket for showing your nuts.

I saw a 50 Ford running chrome uni*** multiholes, but he also had 40 Ford Deluxe hubcaps too...it seems he welded the smaller cap inside of the larger 40 cap somehow, and snapped it on, covered up the little raised lip too...looked good ..any of you guys have pics of older wider caps on the uni*** wheels?

  13. There seems to be three different sizes of re-pro caps.

One, a Ford gennie or gennie re-pro the same size.
    Pops onto stock Ford wheels.
Available from Bob Drake and other places.
    (I tried a set of these on the double bolt pattern - 4 1/2 x 5 and 4 3/4 x 5 - wheels and they wouldn't fit.

The cap that does snap on - like the larger 48 Ford style cap in the pic - is available from the wheel manufacturers in several different Ford patterns.
    32, 34, 40, 48 etc.
I would guess that Rally America supplies these caps for their wheels other than the artillery style shown - which is a good looking wheel imo.

The third size is like the small 32 Ford cap shown.
The wheel manufacturers sell these for use with their aftermarket wire wheels.
Said wheels being the resto-rod type, but on the right car they look good.
Fwiw, these smaller caps are the ones I adapted to my 32's slot mags.

Perhaps Wheelkids answer to the extra holes problem isn't for everyone, but it strikes me as being a good alternative.
If nothing else it'll stir up the onlookers.
Maybe we can start calling them "Ten Bolts."

As Rusty1 said, the snap in stamped sheet metal plugs, the ones with many fingers would work well in a polished stainless or chrome style.
Unpainted ones could be painted to match the wheel color.

My preference with the artillery wheels shown would be to run a hubcap, but that's just me....:D

There's also a few other aftermarket hubcap hole sizes. I'll try to list a few off the top of my head.
