just picked up a 58 fairlane, hasn't run in 30+ years- want to get started on it- brakes first.anybody know of a bolt on dual master?

  2. I dunno about a factory-style replacement bolt-on- there probably is one & I will ask on another board. You may need to change pedals or pushrods. Also, are you planning to convert the front brakes to disc, or are they staying drum? Need to know that first.

I know that Master Power has brake gear for the '58s, but I don't know whether they have a specific drum brake dual cylinder. Probably.

Probably early Mustang, not sure of year. Must be for drum/drum brakes (I ***ume you still have drums in front). Check with some of the Mustang parts suppliers. Should be a bolt in - will probably use two of the four bolts on the 58. Might also be able to use one from a full size Ford (without power if you don't have power brakes). Probably around 66-70's.

1967 is the first year for dual master. Any '67 Ford master for drum/drum should work. Most parts suppliers should have listings for Mustang, Falcon, Fairlane etc....

I have a dual master in mine. I didn't put it in tho. I read that a Ford Ranger dual is a match for the bolt holes. Mine matches the bolt holes, I'll see if I can find a number on it for you.

I'm trying to save my pennies for a booster. Even with the dual, I still get the 'oh ****' factor with the manual drum brakes.

I'm also working on a '58 ,but I'm changing over to power disc brakes.I have not installed them yet ,but thought I p*** along something I got from Speedway Motors , part#910-31402 for $39.95 is an power brake booster conversion plate. This is an aluminum plate about 1" thick with 2 studs out the back that mounts to the original master cylinder holes and has 4 holes to mount the booster to .First mount the booster to the block .there are countersunk holes in the back for the mounting nuts then mount the block to the master cylinder holes. This fits master cylinders with mounting holes 3 1/4" to 3 3/8".
