Someday you'll hurt yourself when that Crap brakes,
and it won't seem like such a good idea.

I know you are right, I'm just using up some tools that were given to me by my ex-finance's mother one Christmas. I'm not saying that her mom giving me Taiwan tools was THE reason I broke off the engagement...but it didn't help.

I had the same problem with the Craftsman 5/16" 1/4 drive sockets... I went through 5 of them before I torqued all of my header bolts. Then again I doubt they were ment to go to 36 ft lbs.

  10. I've been using the socket set that I've always used.

The socket set is my dad's which came from his dad so its been around a long time and must have some quality to it.

The weird thing is that over the last 6 months or so the sockets have been splitting open or breaking in half.

I'm quessing they have just reached the end of their life expectency.

Although I do have just out right bad spelling typically, I actually intended that one. She could not spend "our" money fast enough.

  13. Oh Yeah. I had my hand around the socket when it let loose and promptly tore the skin between my thumb and first finger. Major ouch

I like it when the Cheap Shit Brand(tm) "tools"
round off the expensive bolts, because they don't fit properly,
and you can't get the thing apart.
    --------
I think I broke 1 name brand socket in 30+ years.
And that wasn't an expensive brand, but was guaranteed.
    -------
Can't afford to use Crappy tools.
    Not worth the aggrivation.
