Last year around this time we were getting our second of two 24" plus snow storms. Today we woke up to ice. Over 1/4" encases everything in sight. tree branches are popping and dropping along with the awesome sound of cascading ice crystals, one of which narrowly missed me while in my truck! here's a couple pictures I snapped off. they don't really tell the real story. Damn that Global Warming!!!

It seems that when we get some winter weather its more often ice than snow. Be careful esp of the black ice.
I thought Al Gore said we wouldn't be having this type of weather any more. ???

Every year when we set new hi temps in the summer, the doom & gloom crowd chant their global warming mantra - where are they each winter as we set new lows?

Global warming is occuring, but man-made contribution is much, much less significant than the chicken littles make it out to be...

I'm snowed in with a fresh 19+" on top of the 18 - melt we had last week...I don't wanna hear about global warming anymore!

Northeast Nebraska, in the middle of a corn field right next to a feed lot behind a sale barn. I grew up in Omaha. They get ice too.

Hey, you don't have to drive the sun valley daggers in I spent 12 years there and got bored with the weather man. I miss the cars and the beach but change is good.

Ice is probably 1/2 inch thick now and 1 to 3 of the white stuff is expected to blanket it later. Tips of bows that soar 20-30 feet up in the air on my Black Walnut are now hovering 3 ft off the ground. The one over the garage seems to be holding strong. Good thing cause right below, under the roof is m y convertible (That won't shart! Normally I'd have 'er out on a day like this...Heh-Heh-Heh!

seeing that ice reminded me of a really bad ice storm we had growing up in indiana. i was a paperboy then and when i went to do my route, there was 1/2 inch of ice on everything so there was no riding the bike on that ****. well i folded my papers up and then threw them in the back of our caprice wagon and my dad drove me around while i tossed the papers out the back while sitting on the tailgate. i did a little bit of skating behind it too since it was basically an ice rink out there. lots of tire spinning and fishtailing:D

  16. Ice, isn't that the stuff you put in your drink to make it cold? What's it doing outside like that?

Back on line. Lost contact shortly after last post. Ice continued 'til we ended up with 3/4" or better. Things got ugly and aren't over yet. Every tree in town broke. no exageration. More later I'll post some pictures. I'm tired.
