seen the one foosey (custom rodder ?march 07)did and I liked the look-- I have limited bodywork experience BUT - I'm not one that is afraid :) So my question is What is involved, whom has done/or doing - and can i get a overview of How its done correctly - It looks to me as if it blends back into the fender a good 8" and with those compound curves -- whooo lol

Do you mean the 55 Chevy eyebrow look, like in this pic?
You can buy aftermarket eyebrows (or whatever they call them) and weld em in. I bought mine for about $100, but never got around to installing them.

Hey Punkabilly, I have a pair of eyebrows here that I pulled off an old car at one time or another. These are diff from the ones you see on the '54 there because they are more hooded and they screw on the headlight door. You could have them screwed on and held strongly in place while you do the welding necessary to blend them in. Then you could cut off the part that goes around the headlight and you're good to go. I was keeping these to put eyebrows on a '54 Ford Kustom, but instead I bought a '55 Plymouth Belvedere and it came from the factory with eyebrows..........LOL. I'll let you have these for $50. plus shipping {my zip is 37764, so you can figure the cost of shipping}. Let me know your e-mail address and I can send you some pics of them {there's not much to see..lol}. You can e-mail me at hotrod52@bellsouth.net . Take 'er easy bud.

the '55 chevy eyebrows can be bought from Danchuck. they are very common to rusting out in the eye brows cause road grime and sludge get stuck up in their and rot them away. good thing is they sell the eye brows. try Danchuck.com

This is by no means finshed, I made some pieces on the shrinker to fill this area. Here is the end result.[IMG]

No, he is correct. The magazine date is March of 07. Magazines are always printed & released a few months ahead of the cover date. Just like car dealers start selling the next model year's vehicle during the middle of the current year.

ok so its out now then? cool i have to look for it

  23. The welding clips are called Clecos. They are wicked useful for sheetmetal work. The best (cheapest) place I found them was www.aircraft-tool.com

i just checked out foose's 54' from custom rodder and honestly it didn't do anything for me...don't get me wrong the craftmanship is top notch as usual but for some reason i didn't get the same reaction as i did when looking at the 54' on page 1...i dunno maybe its the lack of wide whites lol

Heh,heh, thats the same reaction I have with all those type of high craftmanship cars that are 'tastless'. Hats off to the quality but I'll walk right on by that ****, and stare at something that is simple and has cl***.

i think alot of it had to do with the rims they chose and the WAY overdone interior...i dunno...anyone else have any other pics of cool 53-54's?

I have to dig around for more photos but here is one, the headlight surround was handformed using tubing and sheetmetal.
