Well, after many nights of lost sleep, me and MJ got started on our first ever coupe body re-attachment. When I got the body, the rear section had been torched off. After months of searching, quarters were found. After probably thinking about it too much, the cutting began. We just got started fitting the pass. side tonight. Much trimming and fitting still to go, and a model A frame on the way before anything is solidified. Just cool to see it as a whole for the first time.
Nice job, hope it continues as planned. Sometimes the hardest part is trying to figure out were to start. I've finally got my new subrails in mine, now I'm replacing some of the wood with square tubing. Then will come the interesting part, extending the cab by about 6 1/2 inches. I've spent a lot of time just looking and figuring before starting.
I know what you mean...we stared at this thing for months trying to figure out a gameplan. Sometimes you gotta say WTF!
Good work man! You've made a lot of progress on that pile o'rust, chassis is looking good too!! Won't be long now til you're lighting them up.
right on man, car is looking good, shop looks good, anything Zorlac is sure to make a room look better! Still have my Metallica board somewhere...I'll have to swing out sometime
Sweet work! I'm especially fond of that body carrier you built. Is that on casters? What about the vertical - is that about 6" pipe with some sort of leveling system? -Chad
wow, I know the undertaking. I have a sports coupe in the same condition. Piecing it all together. Lots of curves to match up... Great job!
i have all that and more to come..... need to start by getting the cowl fixed up and square and then work back from there, just waiting for a visit from a talented friend.
Sciflyer, my dad has a '30 coupe. If you run into any measurement/fitment questions, PM me. I'll get you my email addy, send me pics of the areas in question and I'll get you some measurements of the areas you need.
