SUHRsc, this may sound corny, but having a Hot Rod or Custom, is like having your very own time machine. I mean, if you built it in respect to an era, you can almost feel and experience what they were feeling. Your two Hot Rods are built with respect to a certain era (Pre War, Post War, etc.) You can't help, but think of the folks during this time period might have felt driving their Hot Rod or Custom. Driving your Hot Rod or Custom will get you that much closer to that feeling, in my mind. And Then there's the historical places, Bonneville, El Mirage, Old city streets in SoCal, drag strips, etc.
Congrats on reviving a part of our History too!

What do you guys crave??? I know the feeling though. I have sold stuff over the years to finance my dream roadster build. Stuff enough to build at least 2 pre 50 style hot rods..but I had to choose. 2 - 3 projects with compromises or one that is the bulls eye. I choose the later. My way. Example: I could have done this differently but in order to buy the back mount S&W gauges I have I had to sell out the front half of a 29 roadster body in mintt condition and a mint pristine A frame.... and so on.
Wish I still had all of it.......but it's something to forget.

    time machine??????????
It's already in yer garage Zach. Black, old maroon hide interior, banger with a cyclone head. etc etc.
You are 25 and have a LOT. Your tools.

You go out in that garage Zach, look around and just breathe. I'm 37 now. when I was 25 I had an old Opel, (cheap subs***ute for an american cl***ic)where graduating from university, moved out from my parents house, starting a familly and BROKE as hell, but happy.

You just keep working your way up as you have started and things will work out just fine I'm sure. Guys with skills and goals have every chans there is to succeed.
I wish you the best of luck. :):):):)

Every time you get the feeling that something is missing in your garage I suggest that you go out there and do this: Bring a cold one..step up to the banger roadster, put your hand on top of the cyclone head, rub it, close your eyes and memorize what you see.

Then go on here and tell us about the vision.

You'll do good and it will be entertaining

What Mark Morton said...It's about the iron.

You have to come visit before I drink up all the beer. :D:D:D:D:D:D It's 01.44 AM over here.
We'll get your box with Deuce stuff going ASAP.

I feel that we as The Flyers will be headed in the right the direction with this club as we all have alot in common. & pretty much the same taste in cars, love of history/dry lakes racing and appreciation for all era correct rods whether they are built with less aged sheet metal/aluminum etc,
With Bill's blessing and Zach's enthusiasm, even though we are spread across the country we'll do all that we can do to make Bill proud that we're carrying on his clubs traditions in their quest for all things gow related.
