    I see a lot to grin about - lot's of carefully-thought construction.

Any chance you can post a pic of that rear suspension set-up without the body? Your bag access panels are in a much different location than mine and I want to see what I did wrong.

I really like 37's and that has to be the best looking one I've ever seen. Definitely the best chop. That car is pleasing to the eye from all angles. Hope to see it in person this year. Great job. Paul

Hey Brent, Thanks. Yea the fires burnin for sure!
I will make it out to the HIJINX for sure...this year?

cleatus - my bags are behind the axle, is that what's differant?
You've got to be kidding me, there's not a thing "wrong" with anything on your car, it's perfect!! Your car is one of my inspirations in this build, the problem is mine will never measure up. I attached a couple of pics, let me know if you want any others.

Mike - Don't worry, ***guy is a young, wise ***, know nothing punk, who feebly tries to mock fun at us "of age" guys due to his insecurities. Trust me, I let him know all of the time how we can run circles around him and any of his shananagans!
But you gotta love that little *******!!:D :D

Just sorta joking about doing it "wrong"....but then,,,placing yours behind the axle was a much more intelligent choice than my placing the bags in front and on top of the axle which took up a lot of useable trunk space compared to your's (and required more major frame surgery). Mine was a "live & learn" project - I completely re-did my trunk floor twice before I got something I could live with. I also moved the gas tank out back & under the trunk floor which took up even more room. Wish I'd have left it behind the seat like yours (although I did manage to squeeze in a back seat).

    Anyways....I'm really digging your project!

You're jealous about this hack job? hahaha I'm glad the camera ****s and the lighting was bad!

Thanks a lot Thomas...you already know that your car is my other source of inspiration on this build. The walls in my garage look like a speedaddict-cleatus shrine with the pics I have up!:D

Oh, by the way, the bondo you see was done in the 70's. Its all coming out and patches made if needed then all will be leaded in (I hope!) Later, Michael

that car is BEAUTIFUL to say the least. yeah, you should give yourself some more credit. just the interior metal work alone is astonishing. i know my work looks like ****, but that makes it look even more embar***ing. keep us all posted on the project.

  17. car-nut - I make it to a few runs in CT, but one I never miss is the Road Agents Rumble. I'm originally from CT, so I like to get back once in a while to see the buds. Maybe I'll catch you around this summer.

Thanks again all of you guys.

They don't let me into the show with my car ( not quite Lukes style) and I'm OK with that. I still go every year. I will be looking forward to meeting you and seeing you beautiful car.

  18. Man,

I've been dealing with discouraged, no money, no time, I'll-finish-it-when-the-girls-are-through-school-and-I'm-retired vibes on the '38, which I'm wanting to do as a taildragger, and yours has me really needing to dig back into it.

I'm sensing a serious need to garage thrash, and I thank you for that!

    That looks righteous.
