Just got back from the Dog Catcher's place today. The body and everything looks out-****in'-standin'!!!

I can't thank GMC Bubba and the Wednesday Night Crew, Tom Culburtson and Crew, and the Dog Catcher enough for all that has been done to this point.

I'd wipe the tear from my eye, but I have a stiffy I need to attend to first... "don't want to loose the moment!"

I am about 2 hours from you. I think I would have to get off of work, drive there, drink a beer, say "Good Job" and drive back home so I could get up and go to work the next day. Ha Ha Ha

    Keep the updates coming!

Thanks dude !!! We thought the dash was avanti but really didnt know. A 54 champion it is. Pretty neat unit i bought two NOS at a swap meet sometime ago. The oil pressure is mechanical and so is the amp meter, no senders needed. I havent tested the water temp as to the resistance yet. Got that spec laying around.??

    Thanks for the info.:)

try studebakerparts.com they list p/n 532579 temp sender 53-55 46.00$ thats a 6volt gauge tho . maybe they can set you up with a 12v sender and gauge that will fit that panel....

Sat update, we all went to the Indy swap meet today and got Suave ( Mike) to blow some dust of a few hundred bills!
He actually spent down to the point he didnt have enough left to buy us all a corn dog and i had to buy lunch.
The wheel dude was there and gave us a volume deal on four new wheels trim rings and caps.
Check this ride out now?? We need to order a set of wide white Coker Clasics next week or so and we are close to driving this dude.
I will have Lindross video the first burn out. If snowing we will just have to do it in the shop!! :) :)

By the way we have voted on a NO MORE YELLOW rule with this car. The yellow quota is maxed out !!! :D

Looks like you guys are having too much fun. I must have missed when you did the exhaust. That's different and cool how you have the headers flairing into the lower body and exiting in the back (hope I'm ***uming right on that). Have you got a muffler hidden inside the lower body? Anyway that's going to be one sweet ride when finished. How about "The Recycled Special" for a name? :D

    Another wed nite update.
The car is coming together and we figure we need at least two more wed evenings before shes ready for a test drive and break in burn out.
Last night we had quite a few more people show up for out hot rod night , including a 8 year old and his dad. I put the kid to work mounting shocks and he took every thing i could give him. Good job Adam! Got to love these future hot rodders, pretty rare dudes.
The bed and body are mounted ( hopefully for the last time. The main wiring circuits ar wired to the cab. Wiring by "bubba" just lay it out on a oil filter box and get er done.
If ya done need it , then dont do it. Make it start , run and have lights. Thats it, us the KISS priniciple.:) :)
The brakes are plumbed thanks to Wally " Grumpy Hot Rods" and the master cylinder is painted and hanging with a pedal ***embly made my Tom C.
We have scratched the new paint a couple times and Suave Mike even got some silver overspray on it last night.
( Dog Catcher can ya help ?)
This dude is gettin broke in right!!

    Another update :

Some shops have elves , 30G has trailer park elf's. Now the only difference between a "regular garage elf" and a "trailer park elf" is that a " trailer park elf" will come in the shop do some work at night ( when you aint there) AND eat your moon pies!
The tires came in for Mikes car friday morning and we took them right over to the tire place to have them mounted. L78x15 Coker Cl***ic for the rear and G-78x15 for the front. The trouble they had mounting them i am not even willing to discuss , another story another day.:)
Brought them back in the rain and cleaned up the white walls and couldnt wait to see them on the car! Once on the car i had some issues with the taiwan trim rings ( another story) but got them on and went WOW. After a few minutes and a few friends ( opinons you know) i decided that the fronts were too big and i took them off the car and leaned them against the bandsaw so no body else had to walk in and say wowo , looks great but dont ya think those fronts are huge ???
Going to order a pair of 5:60x 15s first of week. Will find a use for the G-78s. I installed a header just for looks and went home for the day.
Sat morning i came in and noticed my camera was laying in a different place and i took it to breakfast to take some HAMBster pics on my way back after breakfast. Also the "moonpie elf's" had reinstalled the tires i took off, bled the brakes and put the hub caps on the car. And took picturs on the camera of the operation.
great job guys !! Good work for little pay ( moonpies)! This car has been a source of excitement a**** all of us for a few months and now i go home and come back and stuff has been done , thats cool !!!:D :D :D :D
One pic i took Sat morning is the perfect hot rod pic. The car owner ( partial builder) and the wife both smiling in the car !! Shes got her "starbucks coffee" in the car and even brought me a cup. As cable guy would say : I dont care what you think, thats some cooll (or funny) ****!! :) :)

Gotta watch out for those moonpie elves. They've been known to eat moonpies and drink cokes too while changing their oil. :D

    Looks good!

Actually those fronts don't look too bad on there. I think 5.60-15 look too dinky. I like a little "Meat" on my front tires and run 6.70-15s.

  26. That looks great! I really like this it turned out well and the color is much better than flat black.

    Another wed night update.
I think the last 10% of the build takes 90% of the time , or something like that. Got a lot done last night but the pictures wouldnt show much. Lindross got part of the final wiring done and the key turns and cranks and runs the engine. Suave and John got the headers sprayed with silicon and wrapped and put on the car. This is a nice feature of the car i think. Tom was right on with hiding them inside the body rail. We also installed the header baffles, engine sounds really good. We have to over come a problem with the alternator as the hood is so low the alt has to go under the engine on the front motor mount.
We kept the paint out of Suave hands so he couldnt get any more overspray on the car...:)
The brakes seem to work and we think one more wed evening and we can drive it around the block.

    Thursday update,

I had to put this one in before i left the shop for the day. Lindross got a lot of the wiring done and we had previously made the mount ( Tom C. made it up) for this old Buicktail lamp. This project started with Tom having a old Buick.GM cowl in the weeds.
Suave had taken the lamp apart and gl*** beaded it clean and we had given the br*** trim ring to Dave the polisher dude to polish a few wed nights ago. I decided today i would redo the light and get it on the car. I hate to admit this light consumed almost my entire day!!
    But man is it cool????
I had to replace the bulb holders and wire it up to function as a stop and tail lamp. Check it out....:) :) The upper gl*** says stop amd the lower has the Buick script in the gl***.
Two leds on lower bed make up the rear lamps.:)

Funny you mention redoing your taillights. I just did the same thing on the Sea Hag on Tuesday night. What did you use for guts in yours? I couldn't find anything similar at the parts store and ended up having to fab up a bracket with a hole in it for one of the snap in style holders.
