(OT) Stupid Fast-n-Furious neighbors need advice

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by A31ModelA, Jan 7, 2007.

  1. Well I had another run in wit the neighborhood rice burners this afternoon. my 6 yr old daughter and 8 yr oldnephew were playing int he front when one of them decided he was going to see how fast he could go from 8 houses down to the end of the block, and almost got T-boned when he missed the stop sign and ran out into a major street. So I called the Po Po, they came out took a report ( I have all their info written down) and said they couldn't do anythign unless they actually caught them in the act. So I guess I'm ******* up a wet rope. The only thing I have not done is video tape them. Anyone have any suggestions? I do not wanna be a ****, but damn these dudes are really ******* me off.

I have talked to several of my friends who are on the PD, and they all have tried to help, but until they bust them it seems there is nothing they can do. Has anyone had these same problems? I mean our street is about 3 1/2 to 4 cars wide, and residential. These guys fly up and down it, with out a care. I have asked them nicely and yelled at them to take it easy, but It does not seem to make a difference. I am just lookin for some advice here and not trying to be an ***, bc I too love to haul ***, but not on my streets with kids running around.
    Thanks in advance.

Throw a child fender leaner (because that is all they are good for) dummy out in front of them when they go by and see what they do. No one wants to run over anyone and it might make them think.

  4. LOL Royal, I seriously have thought of a spike strip, I know there I can get one lol. I was gonna roll a basketball out in front of them, but with my luck they would wreck kill someone and then blame me for it. If I had it my way I would kick back in the frotn yard, and pop a few rounds off from my .45 and .357 into them and their rides. I don't wanna be a jerk about it, but they really seem to not care. So I have been getting my CCTV **** pulled out and am going to set it up on DVR and let it record(same set up I was planning on using for real streaming video for my Model A build.) I figure if i atleast get them on video tape, maybe I can get the cops to do some undercover work here, hell maybe they will even bust them for the dope they are runnin outta their house too. Sad thing is I don't even think their mom and dad even know about the dope part. They seem to pretty nice, but they don't have control over the kids who are 19 to 23 in age(old enough to know better in my book)
I'm off the soapbox for now. Thanks for lettin me ramble...

  5. Roll a damn floorjack in the street the next time you hear them coming at you. I had the same problem a few years back. That did the trick, and it got everybodys attention.

i used to live on a corner that had a 4 way stop. it was in the middle of a residential neighborhood with lots of kids. this one jack*** that lived down the street from me used to haul *** down the road and just blow the stop sign every time. when i say haul *** i mean he was doing 45-50mph in a 25. so one day i was sitting there as he blew thru the sign at 50+ and i yelled at him "dont do it again". so i went and pulled one of the old metal trash cans over to where i was sitting and waited for him to come back. when he came barreling down the street i simply "lost control of the trash can". it took out the grill of his truck and he stopped. he jumped out and was pissed. well the whole neighborhood heard the "accident" and came out. when they saw who it was and what had happened we all told him that if he ever did it again he would have more to worry about than buying a new grill.

he never blew thru that stop sign again. in fact i dont think he ever drove over 20 on that street again.

  8. LOL MOVE hehe Well we are thinking about it actually, possibly San Antonio or Austin, the wifey has a meeting with one of the mortgage reps for an account Executive position this coming week. Money talks and ******** walks is how we see it. But For now we are here and I don't even want my daughter out front. :D

had the same problem on my street, in talking to my neighbors they were just as sick of it as I was, contacted the po-lice multiple times (as a disclaimer I dont know ya'lls po-lice procedures) but in j-ville the traffic enforcement governs where they patrol by how many complaints they get in an area...the neighbors and I started calling, everyday even if there wasnt ricers zippin up and down the block, de cops set up shop and nailed a few of em, they slowed down for a few weeks and started back up again. Finally I had a "falling down" moment and heard one of em making a speed run up the street as I was getting home from work and in full (MILSPEC) uniform (the worst offender of the block) I chucked my trashcan in front of him, got him stopped and as he was trying to get out of his POS civic shut the door on him trapping him in his car then pulling him halfway out of his car through the window by his shirt collar and politley informed him that if he didnt slow his *** down me and my circle of friends (there is regular bench racing/building that happens at my house in which the street is full of rods, customs and bagged out slammers, many of drivers of these cars are not folks you would not want to tangle with) would dismantle his car and every one of his friends cars in the most violent way possible and that I was sick of him and his buddies putting my son/family at risk for some stupid juvinile speed ****. The kid actually waves at me on his way by now and I havent had any problems with him or his buddies scince, I tried legal and it didnt work so well....tried my way and it worked,

    your results may vary

  10. We used to live on a 4 way corner like that. We had a big weisach(sp)? tree like a damnmutant mesquite tree on the corner, and a telephone pole. There are huge dips there in the intersection, and well noone would stop for the stop signs, and would hit those bumps at helacioius speeds. One night I thought I was gonna die cus this drunk SOB hit one of the dips, and it slung him sideways through my yards removing my weisach tree(right on the corner of the yard and side walk) and then back out across the other side of the yard missing the ASH tree and phone pole by about 3 feet. Then the following weekend, antoher *****, took out the phone pole, and was trapped in his car. Needless to say my mom still has that house as a rent house. But I am glad I amnot there anymore. The renters have all kinds of stories they tell me. I have to do something though, these kids are gonna kill someone soon.

  11. I have talked to about 6 neighbors so far, and theya re sick of it as well. We are thinking about having a neighborhood meeting onthe matter, I am sure I will get flamed for my trailers, and Misc. vehicles I usually have at myhouse being worked on or torn apart, but atleast they are not putting the neighbors and kids at risk of a violent death or dismemberment.

I appreciate the ideas guys. I am sure in the end I will have to take it into my own hands.

  12. yep they ahve tried to p*** me too, and the fools know where I live. So I just kept making the turn into my driveway, and cutting them off, they were pissed, but I didn't give a ****.
The floor jack I dea is damn good too, I was gonna let one roll down the drive way and into the street. My eveil side of my mind is starting to turn now, maybe I should take my 300 savage rifle, and hide out sniping their ***. :p

I had a problem where a kid that was living upstairs from me in my apartmetn building was doin donuts inthe parking lot one night and throwing stones and **** near my car. I about lost it. I take pride in my cars and I went out and he stoppe dwhen I walked up toward his S10. I think the entire village heard me threten his life and tell him that if he did it again I would drive around till I found him pullhim out of his truck and kick his *** no mater where I found him. He said "It's my buddies truck" (like that mattered) so I said then I'll find him in his truck and kick his *** too for letting you do this ****. That night they were also having a party upstairs. About 10 minutes later they all cleared out. All I saw was red, had the kid given me a reason I probably would have slapped him around.

Sometimes you get accross your point better by making them understand you will kill them if they don't stop.

I do. Couple things actually. They don't comprehend the possible outcome of their actions, they think they invincible (we all did at that age), and they simply don't think about others. I drove like a jerk at that age too but not in populated areas. At least I thought about others and drove stupid on the back country roads.

Here in my hood i have chased and stopped 3 punks and read them the riot act... 2 were respectful and appolagized and one go a little ****y and i went through his truck window and ask him if he want me to rip his f-ing heart out with my bare hands and destroy his precious little truck, he then calmed down. Kind of ballsy since i'm 6'4" and over 400 lbs. I hate to get violant BUT if it protects my 3 and 5 year old girls then i will.

The PD here will park marked cars on the road and leave them and it helps cause you never know if one is in there or not. Good luck and keep your kiddo's safe

  21. Acid makes for a cheap speed bump/ pot hole. I live on a corner and had a couple of kids always sliding around the corner, so I went out made a few pot holes now they have to slow down or they almost knock the front valances off their little ricers.

Hell there used to be a guy like that in my neighborhood. Who flew down the street on a motorcycle till a guy down the street lost it and a 2x4 came flying in front of him. It took him and the bike out.I say the old garbage cans and fishing line should do the trick. These kids are my age but at least I have sense to not do it in a populated area hell I idle down the street in my coupe so I don't wake up the nieghbors. But sometimes you gotta be ****hole.

Depends on how far ya wannna go.....we had a buddy with the same problem....i picked up a 73 newport out of field, we got it running ,to use for demo, but put it to better use, cleaned the vins from the windshield and door, grabbed the under hood tag, sprayed the thing flat black...my buddy parked it in a drive way across from his(Foreclosed house).....mr ricer came wailing down the block...and got T-boned by the phantom chrysler......he tagged him, took off down the block, up the next alley ,into his dads garage....we waited two weeks and picked it up with my rollback and crushed it.....no proof....no ricer, no problem...... streets been VERY quiet since....:D

    BRILLIANT!!!!

  25. that sounds like a sweet idea to me. I am tooling many a thoughts around in my head. I will be calling and talking to the pd one more time tomorrow and stressing that is something is not done ASAP I WILL take matters into my OWN hands, and then only me and GOD will know what happened.

  26. Similar one to this that a buddy of mine did at his house, probably a similar residential neighborhood where four of five houses have kids 12 and under playing outside, and his daughters were about 8 and 10 at the time. Pretty much the same deal, ask nice, plenty of yelling and fist shaking at the car, but nothing changed. Anyway, he went to walmart and got a pretty big lifesize doll, about the size of a fender leaner (It was kinda freaky lookin') and a cheap skateboard. A little bit of duct tape later and presto, 4 year old on a skateboard. The perpetratior was predictable with his 40 mph flyby on his way home from work, so my buddy posted between the bumpers of two parked cars on the street and rolled the little guy into the street when he saw the rx7 coming and scored a direct hit, he locked up the brakes and slid about 20 feet with the doll and skateboard lodged under the car. The driver got out of the car and started screaming and crying, (he bought it big time) he was very traumatized by it from what I understand, it took him about 20 minutes of sitting on the curb shaking, with his car still in the middle of the road, doll melted to the catalyst before he could get in and drive home. Apparently he never drives down the street anymore and goes about 4 blocks out of his way everytime he leaves or goes to his house.

you could always do what we did as kids in my town. if your neighbors across the street will let you, put up a pretty tall fence post or even use trees. just get to where you have two things sticking up out of the ground on both sides of the street. when you here them coming ( you have to do this at night) tighten some plastic kitchen wrap from one post to the other. then when they get close enough they see their own headlights and freak out. tought a couple people in my town a lesson or two. man i miss those days...

  28. HOLY ****. I would love to try that, but the damn kids are not predictable. There is no set time, I can just tell you that it happens mostly on the weekends or when kids are out of school/college. It goes on and off fora few days sometimes, then stops for a week or so, then right back up at it. A few have been busted, but only bc my buddies(pd buddies) have all their info, and keep an eye out for their rides, and have popped them outside of the neighborhood, except the one time when 2 were busted, and hauled off cars and all. Ill be toying with te skateboard Idea and I think my daughter has a big ***ed doll, but she is not very sturdy like one of those stupid plush things I would give to a dog to eat. I guess ill ahve to stick some rod in her and stiffen her up. Maybe one right up her booty to hold her straight up :p:eek:
