Very nice site. I have a 46 dodge one ton pickup that I bought a few years ago. Thought at the time was to rod it, But all numbers match, no rust, runs great. Just can't bring myself to cut this one up. So it gets repaired back to stock, new brakes and bed wood. I have rebuilt the guages (even figured out how to replace the bulb on the heat guage), have been looking for 6 bolt rims for it. torn between keeping the split rims or going to non split, but old looking rims. stockton wheel makes them. attempting to put in a picture here. So now I am looking for one less nice, complete to play with. I would like to chop it, maybe drop it. Hemi or BB maybe a flat head v8 if I can find a nice one. The only club we belong to right now is the Black Hills 4 wheelers. http://www.bh4wheelers.com/ Off road trucks, family fun runs, forest service work. We enjoy looking for the ghost towns, exploring. I love it when I find old steel in the woods, no matter if it is a fender, or just a junk pile. Here are our off road trucks. My wife wanted to try driving so I have been working on her truck. Winch bumper for her's is next. so I have built many off road trucks and ready to try something new. After lurking your site all day yesterday I had night mares last night of trying to split the hood, to widen the rear of it, on a farmall tractor. (you know the post I am sure). Chopping the tractor cab . When it turned Kermit the frog green I woke up in a sweat. Farmalls are supposed to be red. After getting back to sleep, the dream came back as I was sanding it to get that faux patina look , but the paint would not come off. Woke up tired. Man, I hate night mares like that. I know that there are purists in building up old auto's. but I am not sure what that means. Some seem to think you need a paint job that looks a mile deep and costs more then my house. Others stick with origional as possible. yet others will put a toyota motor in a vintage auto, or put together something different out of what ever is around. I personally would never put a toyota motor in a vintage rod. but I do see all kinds of motors in cars, chevy's in fords, but that seems to be ok. I would not put a chevy or ford in my dodge, but I do sure like the looks of the caddillac flat head. so I hope that I find a nitch to fit in here. thanks for taking the time to read this.
not confused, just have not found the truck yet. I am rather open about what truck. choice would be another 46 one ton so I can have extra parts and options for the one that I have.
hahaha, south dakota is not so small that you know everyone as for the truck I like the head lights to be on the fenders. like the dodge, international, chevies. the fords I like the later ones with the v8 in the grill. also it all depends on what the wife says of course. thanks
