I know this show has been on for a while but I do not have CMT and today while at Home sick I was channel surfing and it was on MTV2

These guys really now how to Trick a Truck, they threw a little old skool on this one with some Allis Chalmers Orange paint and old rounded off fenders,Some cool Big Chrome Straight Stacks, it was really Cool!

I can see this show being popular and maybe bringing back some popularity with the Trucking Industry!

I know this is probably old news to most but it was the first time I had actually seen the show, I had heard about it but never seen it.I just thought it was pretty Cool.

Anyone on here have anything to do with The big rig industry as far as customizing goes?

(Moderators if I am to far off base please delete)

Chrome Shop Mafia outta Joplin MO. Do some wierd shit, do some rather nice lookin stuff too. Sort of a "Pimp My Ride" for the OTR driver. Originally on CMT.

I watch it, if only for the "how not to grow a goatee" factor.

Most of those guys are on the HAMB. Ryno had a bunch of us over to his place during the HAMB drags for cheeseburgers and beers. Cool cool guys.

While I am not always aligned with their styling decisions, I think that they are always cool and enthusiastic. Definitely more fun that watching CNN.

If you want to see some more cool rigs go to Western Distribution Trucking Corporation http://www.wdtc.net Click on custom builds........They have a bitchin 53 Peterbilt and a 54 Kenworth that are nice. Plus most all their trucks are the cleanest on the road today....

The HAMB has a few truck drivers, enthusiasts.......

Ryno and some other HAMBers do most of the actual fab work. Nice guy. I really don't care at all about the big rigs, but it's still interesting to see from time to time.

The show is watchable in the same way that Car wrecks attract you attention. The PMR acting is really bad and the custom trucks are questionable tastewise.

Much like PMR, I hate that it is all show and no go. A trucker needs the drivetrain not the exterior so I would kind of like to see them upgrade that as well as the exterior.

that rig they show up in to 'steal' the mark' truck is hilarious. I thinks it lower than my roadster.

.... the way they all hang off of it like firemen on a firetruck.. HA!!!

  11. I like that show. I've seen it maybe five times. They do pretty nice work. It seems like most of the guys that get picked to have their trucks fixed up are really happy and appreciative of it (sometimes breaking down in tears and speechless). They seem to be good at doing things that the truck owner will really like.

I liked the one where they fixed up the truck with a firefighter's theme because the guy was a volunteer fireman. They did a lot of really nice gold leaf, red flake painting, and pinstriping on it. The painter is pretty good. I'm impressed that they can paint something that huge and have it come out nice everywhere. The spray gun holds about a half gallon of paint, and they mix up the paint in huge buckets. Looks cool when they're dumping in gallons of candy and flake into the bucket.

I've always liked big trucks -- Peterbuilts, White Freightliners, Macks, etc., especially the older ones with steel fenders and chrome. I used to ride shotgun with my Grandpa in a really old (~1949?) Diamond Rio and some old (mid '50s) Ford big rigs in the summers when I was a kid delivering diesel fuel to farms out in the San Joaquin Valley. I think if anyone doesn't like big trucks, it's because they just haven't been around them enough. They're cool. I get nostalgic just breathing the diesel fumes of a big rig when it drives by, and love that oily rotten smell of the inside of an old truck.

i like the show ...but iv got some buddies and a brother who say they add so much weight to the rigs that they loose milage ,stress the engine and may not pass some inspection stations....this is their oppinion and they are truckers ..im not and dont have a clue...but im curious if it would cause these problems..

I like what they do to the trucks, but I could really do without all the Pimp My Ride flavor of the show. Nothing looks more fake than a bunch of white guys talking and acting like some hip hop star using silly hand moves and talking like he's from the street.

"Yo we gotz you HOOKED UP bro wit dis here..." "Got you some bling-bling goin on up in hera." blah blah

Seriously, I'm a son of a trucker and like what they do, but this is CMT, not MTV.

I understand the enthusiasm since they are customized - but still not really HAMB material.
