Ok, now is the time to talk about my project. Last summer, I bough a few body panels that, when leaned together, look like a 30 chevy mordoor. It was rescued just before being crushed, and is now tucked away in my father's garage basement (you gotta love a garage with a basement). I plan on doing the 4 door sedan to coupe conversion, Cheaters,Geneva style (Yeah, I'm THAT crazy!). The interior wood is almost all gone but the panels are pretty decent. I already looked in the archives, but I'd like to see more wood replacement pictures on 30's GM cars, especially around the door hinge area and inside the doors themselves. What material did you use, I'd like to avoid overweight 1"x1" sqare tubing as much as possible. Since my doors have decent wood, I might leave it there, but maybe not (I like low roofs!)
I can't recall the exact issue but Rodder's Digest did a big spread on that. Anybody got that handy for him, I'm at work. Otherwise I'll try to remember to look for it in the shop, instead of playing with the coupe chassis.
