it wouldnt let me post in the tech section so i am gonna try it here does anyone know if a nova rearend will directly bolt in a 1953 chevy car if so what model??
it wont fit with out removing the brackets and welding on new axle pads. believe a 55-57 chevy p*** will bolt in.
I'm putting a 55 chevy rear in my 54 and it will have to have the brackets re-welded or placed 3 inches forward for which im not a fan of. I went with the 55 cause the nova and camaro rears are like 2 inches wider and i'm gonna bag the car one day and was told that width would not work.
The '70-81 Camaro rear-ends are the bolt-ins you may have heard of...you just need to re-drill the centering hole on the spring perches for your stock leaf-springs. Check this page for rear-end widths: http://carnut.com/specs/rear.html Bryan
S-10/Blazer rearend are th same width as stock. You have to move the axle pads but they are real easy to find. Todd
